        tracy never knew steve very well. they had mutual friends, and they had been at the same parties, but she’d never actually spoken to him for very long unless it was to ask where one of her friends was. he seemed okay, a little arrogant and a little high-and-mighty but that was to be expected from someone as popular as him. anyone with that amount of power would be a little bit of an asshole.

        when they were assigned to do a project together for history, though, she immediately felt the urge to bash her head into a table. the assignment was simple: pick a significant historical figure and create a presentation and write an essay on them. but she was hoping to get paired up with someone who would actually do some of the work. but, then again, she didn’t know steve very well. she hopes she was wrong in her assumptions -- assuming things was never good or healthy, in her opinion, but she was human and it did happen from time to time.

        “ hey, steve. ”  her voice is meek & gentle as she sits down in the desk beside him, scooting a bit closer with her notebook so maybe they could get a rough outline of what this project would be.  “ so ... if you want, you can pick the person we research. i’m really not picky. ”

        “ fucking tina... ”  she sighs, runs her fingers through her hair.  “ she wasn’t paying attention and she bumped into me and dumped her drink down my shirt. then LAUGHED about it. laughed! ”
