This all smacks of a lack of awareness to material conditions. The Dems doomed themselves by lining up to get Biden nominated. A man who delivered, at best, marginal improvements over 4 years. A man who promised $2000 cheques on day one but then turned around to negotiate down and then fuck about with means testing.

As we saw with the first Trump presidency and as we see with the current Trump presidency, the rules don't matter if you don't want them to, so excuses about what can or can't be done based on procedure is bullshit.

There were multi instances since Obama to have a more balanced SCOTUS but they were all missed by the Dems, up to and including packing it.

You might talk about fear Vs facts but in all honesty, material improvements overture e everything. If folks are getting their needs met, they have no reason to turn to fringe ideas to find fulfilment. The United States has more than enough to go around and then some, but instead you have two parties, o e of which tells you the facts of why you can have a better life and one who tells you, wrongly, who is stealing your better life.

I'd like to think the Democrats are capable of learning but, going by the treatment of Mandami's success in New York, that doesn't appear to be the case.

Ultimately the are both parties of capital and the Dems will always give way to the right rather than give an inch to the left. As we saw with the legislation around the nationwide train strike a couple years ago, both parties can put their differences aside if capitalism is threatened in any way.

The entire country has changed. Time to change it even more. We are never going back, so focus on the world we want.
