Zorua!

Zorua!!!!!

Zorua’s absolutely fantastic. An adorable little Dark-type fox, it’s got a great expression, great proportions, great colours, and a great ability (at least conceptually). I’m gonna go ahead and say it already: I consider Zorua practically perfect, and there’s really no criticism at all to be had of it.

Or at least, I’d like to say that, but there was one terrible thing about it back in Black & White, its original set of games: there was no viable way to actually OBTAIN one without the use of event-distributed legendary pokemon. Event-distributed legendary pokemon from HeartGold & SoulSilver. That you had to transfer. Using a second console. You can see the problem here.

As a consequence of this, very few people actually got access to Zorua, despite its evolution being positioned as the Big Thing of Gen V. I feel the single most significant reason why Zorua and Zoroark didn’t catch on, despite their huge marketing push and starring role in the then-most-recent film, was because of the sheer convolutedness of actually obtaining one. People like to use the pokemon they like when they play through a game; that’s where a lot of fondness for the pokemon comes from in the first place! Yet these pokemon were gatekept behind a visit to Gamestop (for Americans, at least) and the possession of a second console capable of playing DS games. Thankfully you’d get one for free (that belonged to N, even!) in the sequel games, and it would be available as a normal pokemon from then onward, but the damage was already done.

The other big thing worth mentioning about Zorua is its and its evolution’s signature ability, Illusion. This ability causes the pokemon with it to take on the appearance of the last pokemon in the player’s party when sent out into battle, until it receives damage. Very handy for mindgames, though it also coincided with the introduction of team preview, which meant your opponent would still always know if you have a Zoroark or Zorua in the wings. Still, great concept! Also very mythological trickster fox of them. Outside the games, it even allows turning into humans and other things!

Zorua’s also got a lovely shiny, with a wonderful chocolatey brown accented with a bright cyan. The base colour scheme certainly fits its Dark motif better, but I’m still not actually sure which I prefer – they’re both super great!

Regardless of unfortunate distribution issues, Zorua is a marvellous pokemon, and easily one of my top favourite Dark-types. It’s also the first definitive fox I’m reviewing (you know, not counting Eeveelutions), and I gotta say, it’s probably my favourite of the entire bunch and I don’t foresee that ever changing. You really don’t get better foxes than this.

After writing this, I’m realising I could’ve done some kind of image swap joke with Illusion. Ah well.

First you start with the lines obv, you need eyes you can color haha

I then put the flat colo in where I want it to be.

The lighter Part on a different Layer tho since I want to avoid shading it, too.

I then simply use a darker blue to start shading.

I put the darker blue like this

And then simply use the blur thing to make it look smooth.

Now comes an optional part I do because I like how it turns out.

I use a very light color on a different layer, which looks like white but isnt.

I put it in the lighter parts to make em even lighter obviously.

Then just blur them once again but not too much.

Afterwards I put down the Opacity to like 40%.

I use the exact same color on a different layer but with a very low percentage of opacity and put it on luminosity mode to put some random circles and sparkles and that stuff.

You can do the same again with more sparkles on another layer with luminosity as well to make it sparkle a bit more but that again is optional as well.

Afterwards you can put some more shading at the topside of the eye to let it look a bit darker and then you finish it off with the highlights.

Thats all about it. Just color the rest of the picture and then you’re done.

//I apologize for the lack of updates!

I currently have been catching up to Fear The Walking Dead, a show I started watching with my best friend when we were bored after finishing season 6 of The Walking Dead (Season 7 wasnt out by that time)

The rest of the third season of Fear The Walking Dead came out but I forgot to catch up, so I finally did and it pushed me down alot more than I would have expected.

First of all there was a character I hated from the beginning. I really really wanted him to disappear because he made everything worse for my fav character and his family. Then the dude I hated lost his dad and became closer to my fav character and you lowkey started to understand him and his actions.. And then I really started to like him. I also ended up shipping him with my fav character but that’s another story.

So, the thing that actually pushed me down is, that at the end, the character I once hated but now liked alot, died. The episodes before that one were already the worst and I cried alot, but that was just.. toooo much for me to handle. I still didn’t watch the last episode of the season because my heart can’t deal with it.

So the inactivity was, or is, simply because I was catching up with things and they made me sad- Which ended up in an Art block (Am currently fighting against it as best as I can)
