Daily Kirby Copy Ability 03/27/2024
Today's Copy Ability is Sleep! Sleep has appeared in 14 games, starting with Kirby's Adventure and most recently in Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe.
Tumblr media
Wikirby Description: "Sleep is a Copy Ability usually acquired from Noddy. When Kirby receives this ability, he stops and dons a night-cap, his eyelids grow heavy, and he falls asleep in the very spot he stands, then wakes up after a few seconds. Unlike other abilities, Sleep is almost universally a detriment to Kirby rather than a benefit, and its recurrence in the series can be seen as a joke (though some games give it some utility, with Kirby Battle Royale in particular granting it a full fighting moveset). In most Kirby series games, Sleep Kirby also appears in the Game Over screen, either waking up, or continuing to sleep depending on whether the player chooses to continue, or quit.

Tumblr media
Wikirby Description: "Mirror is among the more enigmatic and rare abilities in Kirby's arsenal, having only four proper game appearances. While Kirby has this ability, his dash is replaced with a magical smooth sliding motion where Kirby moves forward in a static pose without moving his feet. Mirror Kirby's primary attack involves him swiping with his scepter and then creating a magic barrier while throwing out elongated diamond-shaped projectiles. While this barrier is up, any projectiles thrown at Kirby will be reflected back, potentially hitting the enemy who threw them. This reflection property also applies to Mirror Kirby's special bubble shield raised when he is guarding. Mirror Kirby also gains an attack called "Mirror Body", which allows him to throw out mirror images of himself. In Kirby: Planet Robobot, Kirby can create a ring of duplicate images or a string of upward-traveling ones."
