Universal Bakehouse Damansara Kim Perfect Chill Brunch Spot
Sourdough HEAVEN

Universal Bakehouse are the breadwinners of KL by far! Their sourdough bread comes in multiple flavours priced at half/full. The outer layer has a crusty top while the inner part is very soft.
The WAIT TIME can be between 10 mins to 30 mins to get a table because it is such a small space; however, its worth EVERY minute. There’s seating inside as well as outside. Bear in mind it can get a little cold inside. The seating area overlooks the kitchen so you can watch them making the bread.
If you’re impatient and you don’t want to wait you can always take away the sourdough bread and add your own toppings!
Avocado & Ricotta Sourdough: RM 15 (Rating 4/5)

Pullman: RM -/11

The price is very reasonable compared to other places that sell sourdough bread at double the price!
I get them sliced at the bakehouse. I usually store them in the freezer at home and heat them for a couple of minutes before serving.
It taste divine in its simplest form with salted butter as the bread itself is very flavourful.

I usually alternate between the avocado & ricotta and hummus and cherry tomato with balsamic glaze. They’re the perfect post workout meal fuel at the weekend.
Hummus & Tomato : RM 14 (Rating 4/5)

My usual meal at Universal consist of sourdough bread with varied toppings, kampung eggs and white coffee. Although, I love all the food and the baked goods, the coffee is pretty sub par.
Kampung Egg: RM 4 (Rating 4/5)
The White Coffee: RM 11 (Rating 2/5)

They have a wide selection of baked goods that tastes pretty dam good.
The flourless chocolate cake is delectably delightful. It’s very gooey with a rich chocolatey taste. It can be quite rich for one person to finish a whole slice but if you love chocolate cake this one’s worth a try!
Flourless Chocolate Cake: RM13 (Rating 5/5)
Let’s not forget about the scones, their ultra buttery scones with a hint of sweet tanginess with a light and crumbly texture is to die for. Have it plain or with some butter or jam!
Scones: RM 7 (Rating 4/5)

The chocolate chip cookie is not the best baked item on the menu. I’ve definitely had better ones! There’s room for improvement but it’s still worth a try! Cookies are usually quite subjective, I tend to prefer cookies on the crumbly side.
Chocolate Chip Cookies: RM 4 (Rating 1/5)

The doughnuts are pillows of joy! Honestly one of the best doughnuts I’ve ever had! And trust me I’ve had about a billion of em. My fave is the plain coated ones.
They have a very surreptitiously homey taste with a glowy golden brown colour.
Doughnut (Plain/Cinnamon Coating): RM 5 (Rating 5/5)
