Panic was spreading throughout the Great Hall, with everyone unable to figure what was going on. Even the Aurors had been told very little about the events, all they knew was that they were to try to keep everyone at Hogwarts until they were given more information.
It felt like hours before Professor McGonagall descended the stairs and made her way towards the Great Hall, but when people saw her, the whispering died down; they were finally about to get some information. The woman walked through the crowd towards the end of the room, the Minister for Magic, Hermione Granger-Weasley, following closely behind her, along with a bunch of Aurors. Harry Potter, Ginny Potter (nee. Weasley), and Ron Weasley had also joined the group, but they hid cleverly at the back of the room.
Eyes were focused on the group, who settled themselves behind the podium, the suspense building as everyone waited for the words that would follow. It was obvious the Aurors were scanning the room, looking for anybody who could have been involved in this. McGonagall started to speak.
“Today’s events have been tragic, but we are closer to figuring out who did this. The Ministry has requested that each and every person who attended the Final Task today is interviewed by an Auror. The interviews are not mandatory, however, be aware that if you do not attend, that could be held against you. I will pass you onto Head Auror, Christian Headstone."
A tall, broad man stepped up to the podium, thanking Professor McGonagall as he did. His eyes scanned the room before he spoke.
“As Professor McGonagall has said, we request that each of you come for an interview. These will be done in alphabetical order and will be conducted by the Aurors stood before you. When we are ready for you, your name will be called. If you would prefer not to be interviewed, speak to Professor McGonagall. Thank you.”
People began to look around; did this mean the murderer was among them?
Hi everyone, we are onto the next part, interviews! Everyone will be interviewed by Christian Headstone, as all your characters are the most likely to have been involved. This would be highly unusual as he wouldn’t normally be in an interview unless his suspicions were high.
I will post a starter for every character on the Ministry page which will be posted shortly! If you have any questions let one of us admins know!

Rita Skeeter here, back with more of the gossip you love to hate, and boy, do I have gossip for you. Albus Severus Potter, wannabee Cedric Diggory, has fallen to the same fate as the 1994 Champion. I couldn’t have written it better myself, a past destined to repeat itself. I bet our favourite rebel, Harry Potter, is kicking himself for letting this go ahead.
The most interesting part took place an hour after the tragic death of Mr. Potter, while all the attendees gathered in the Great Hall. Lorcan Scamander was seen shouting about Crumple-Horned Snorkacks being at fault for the murder; if you ask me, I think the boy is as sane as his mother, Loony Lovegood. Hugo Weasley didn’t take too well to this, I watched as he exploded with anger at the other. I don’t blame him, but I think he need to watch his temper, otherwise he’ll turn out like his Father.
Talking of the Weasley’s, Rose was spotted sobbing and hugging random people. I’m not too sure what her mother told her, but mine told me about personal space. James Sirius Potter and Lily Luna Potter were seen mopping around the halls, at one point, I’m almost certain I saw Roxanne Weasley offering, the now only male son of the Potter Clan, something out of a flask. Were the Wotters drinking on Hogwarts premises, that I cannot confirm, but it’s suspicious if you ask me. Were they trying to keep their guilt at bay?
Talking of Roxanne, I overheard an argument take place between her and Dominique Weasley. I knew the two didn’t get on, but to fight right after your cousins death? Seems suspicious to me.
Boyfriend of Albus, Scorpius Malfoy, was difficult to track down. He, not unlike his father, wore the same solemn face that the Malfoy’s can’t seem to shake. Is he even sad about the death of the so called ‘love of his life’, or did he have something to do with it? After all, his ancestry is full of dark wizards, it wouldn’t come as a shock if he joined in.
One man who surprised me today was Teddy Lupin, unlike the other’s he was actually attempting to figure out what was going on. Maybe it’s the good influence Victoire Weasley has been on him. Is he the only one to have taken on any of his Godfather’s advice? He seems to be the only one who wants to find Albus’ killer.
If you have anymore insider gossip for me, contact me here, me, myself & I want to know.
Till next time.

Fear spreads through the wizarding community today, as what was meant to be a celebration turned into a disaster from the past. Albus Severus Potter, son of Harry Potter, the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and saviour of the Wizarding World, was murdered last night after triumphing over the other Septiwizard Champions. The circumstances of his murder are unknown, but the Department of Magical Law Enforcement are launching a full investigation into the murder.
Due to the circumstances, Harry Potter, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, was unavailable to provide us with a statement, but we received this from his Deputy, Lany Finus, “Albus Potter’s death has come as a shock to us all, but we are working hard and diligently to find out what happened. At this time, we believe this is not connected to the Dark Arts and was a result of the Septiwizard Tournament. We ask the public to remain calm during this unsettling time.”
Despite the Deputy's statement, The Daily Prophet had received inside information that the murder may not be as innocent as the Ministry are trying to claim. It is rumoured that Albus Potter gripped tightly onto a note, which was pried from his hands by Headmistress, Professor Minerva McGonagall. According to a reliable source, the note read ‘I warned you there is no escape from the past’. The source also reported that a similar message was carved into a golden egg, from the second task, warning that the Septiwizard Champion would be murdered, just like Cedric Diggory from the 1994 Triwizard Tournament. We contacted Professor McGonagall for a statement, but she is yet to respond.
If the note is correct, then things can only get worse from here on. Will this be the return of the Dark Arts after such a long reign of peace?
If you have any information on the tragic death of Albus Potter, please get in contact with us.

The moments after the death of the middle Potter child were chaotic, people didn’t know what to do with themselves, most of them had never seen a dead body before, let alone a dead body of someone they knew. Professor McGonagall had handled the scene quickly, levitating Albus’ body away. It turned into a procession of sorts, with the spectators following closely behind her, some curious and others overwhelmed. The body was taken up to McGonagall’s study, in hopes that they would find answers, while everyone else made their way to the Great Hall.
The sombre faces of the people gathered contrasted with the sparkling banners and tables set up in the Great Hall made a devasting scene. Had Albus returned alive, this hall would be buzzing with people dancing, drinking, celebrating, but, right now, the only thing that could be heard were sobs.
While everyone else had made their way to the castle, the Headteachers of Durmstrang and Uagadou waited at the entrance of the maze for their Champions to return. Imagine their shock when they arrived back, expecting cheering crowds and, instead, receiving silence and solemn faces. Imagine then being told that Albus Potter was dead and being approached by Ministry officials who were under the impression that you might have had something to do with it.
If they had been the first to the cup, would they have been killed?
We are now open for interactions! The roleplay will continue on from an hour after Albus’ death so make sure your starters link in with that.
There are a couple of things to make sure you’ve done before you post a starter:
Post your intro so everyone has an idea of what your character is like before interactions.
Follow the No Escape Starter Blog and tag it in your starter when you post it.
Follow the #noescape-starter tag and make sure to tag your starter with it as well.
Most of all, have fun!
