“Really?” She chuckled, a little amused at that image.

Allie nodded. “That is very fair. I once knew a girl who said she watched it every time it was on telly which is crazy to me.  Why would you want to watch it with commercials and all the good bits cut out?”

“Yeah, that’s a bit weird to me.” She chuckled. “I’ve always hated them playing movies on tv with adverts though.”

“Right? Before we know it, the year is going to be over.” She said before letting out a chuckle, “ Honestly, I feel the same way. I don’t think I’ve achieved anything at all. 

“It’s crazy but I think I say the same thing every year. “I always seem to forget how fast it goes.” Dakota laughed, shaking her head.  “I’m with you there though... I feel like I’ve gotten nothing done.”

“It’s ridiculous how fast this year has gone to be honest.” Kota nodded in agreement. “And I feel like I’ve achieved nothing with all the time.” She chuckled.

“Can you believe that we’re in April already? Like this year is going by way too quickly. Too bad there’s no machine that can slow down the months or days you know?” @secretsummerstarters​

Allie looked over at Dakota and nodded.  “That’s fair..it is very long and very sad but if you try to tell me its because you don’t like Jack, I might judge you.” She teased. She didn’t know for sure but she was pretty sure that Kyle had gone back to Dakota and while she wanted to blame him, she really couldn’t.

Dakota laughed softly. “Oh, trust me, that’s definitely not why.” She teased before shrugging. “I think it’s just so long I can’t focus on it.”

“Truthfully.... I actually hate that movie.”

“The titanic sank 109 years ago this morning. I think that means it is the perfect day to re-watch the movie. You know you want to join me.”

Maddy could hear her friends outside, and she was grateful for them honestly. She loved them to bits and pieces just like she loved her son. Hearing the knock on the door, she went over and answered it. “Hey!” She smiled big. Honestly she loved seeing them. Clive had excused himself for the day this way he wouldn’t interrupt their time together. He was so different from Ryan and she was blessed to have him. @dakotaxpike

Dakota smiled, moving inside with Lacey and giving Madeline a quick hug. “How’s it going?” She asked, knowing how hectic and tiring things could be with a new baby. “Where is the little cutie?”

Lacey followed Kota in, glancing around as she shut the door behind her. “On a scale on one to one hundred, how tired are you right now?” She joked, looking at Maddie.

Lacey rolled her eyes playfully as she took the gifts from Dakota and waited for the door to open. “Shut up yourself, bitch.” She playfully tapped Dakota’s shin with her foot, laughing at the look it got her. “Sorry.” Reverting to high school was easy with the two of them sometimes. “Hey, you!” She grinned when the door opened.

Dakota: We're not actually. Why?

The last thing Kota wanted to do was repeat the Annie situation with him. She probably shouldn't even go here because if it went wrong it could be bad but she was overthinking. It was a kiss. It was the new year. She smiled as she watched him leaning in too and then gladly kissed him back, moving her arms around him.

Dakota smiled. She was really glad that he was enjoying his role in their lives. Honestly, it’s all she’d ever wanted for them all since she had Luke. But she’d forgiven all the in-between stuff. She smiled, glancing down but when he took her hand she lifted her gaze again. Dakota blinked back at him, running her tongue over her lower lip briefly as he spoke. “Don’t you..have a girlfriend..” She murmured knowing most girls didn’t really like their men kissing their exes even at New year but honestly she was already sort of leaning towards him because god did she want to.

Kyle smiled back at her because he really was enjoying his role in their lives now. He regretted not being there for Luke still. But at least he was trying here. So hopefully that counted. Kyle looked back t her. “We are just dating. Nothing serious..” It was true. They weren’t serious. Just dating. He started leaning in towards her as well. Closing the distance between them, he kissed her lips gently.

Be parents, not weird ex hook-ups with Annie jumping down Kota’s throat every five minutes, or being angry at him for ignoring Luke. “Well, believe me, I really lov–like having you around them.” She did think he would be a good influence that the kids could use in their life - she used to be bitter and think he was a deadbeat but he’d proved himself otherwise since just before his dad, so… she was more than grateful. And happy. “No, thank you. For showing up.”

This was really nice being here and Kyle loved it actually. Being able to be there for them. Even James. It was nice being normal parents and not weird exes or anything like that. Annie was the furthest person from his mind, hell even Allie wasn’t on it. Of course he noticed that she almost said love. “Good I’m glad, cause I really lov–like being around them.” He was still doing the best to prove that he could be a good dad. He was trying. “I’d show up for you guys anytime.” He told her softly. Reaching for her hand to give it a gentle squeeze. When the bells started. “Can I?” He wanted to ask before he just did it. Given their history.

“You may not think so but you totally are.” Kyle pointed out, looking over at her still. Watching her for a moment, he couldn’t help but feel something that he hadn’t felt in awhile. Not even when he was with Allie. Reaching for his beer, he took a drink before setting it back down. His eyes went back to Dakota. “I can only imagine. But I’m not going to lie seeing the kids whenever I can even little Ellie and James totally makes my day better. I really like being around for Luke and just all of you in general. So thank you, Kota for letting me do that.”
