How would you suggest dealing with toxic friendships? Ive noticed you have mentioned being in them and Im really struggling to find happiness in school right now :(

oh my god im so sorry i just saw this... im having a really hard time keeping up with tumblr right now (i know i say this all the time but its true :( i have my A levels in 2 weeks!!)

first of all i just wanna say i feel absolutely terrible for u :( its the worst feeling when ur struggling with friends - last may was the worst month of my life because of the exact same reason

honestly it hurts like hell but my best advice would be to cut them off. i did at the end of the last school year and i had a couple other friends i could lean on but i was pretty alone for a few weeks and it sucked...

i had to find myself a new friend group and at first it felt really forced and a few of the people i was trying to be friends with didnt end up working out, but now a year later i have the best friends of my life. it didnt take the full year!! i think around october was a turning point for me, where i really felt integrated into my new group

my advice only really works if you have at least 1 good friend outside of your toxic friendships that you can rely on and branch out from.. im sorry :(

my situation is less so about a guy and more about a friend? the past year i've isolated myself from my friends a lot and for that reason we aren't SUPER close anymore? and now i see them all hanging out on snapchat and stuff and i get really fucking jealous :-(

ahhhh yeah i get it... is there any reason you’ve been isolating urself?

i think if u still wanna be close to them then talk to them abt it and try and integrate urself again? if u isolated urself and havent been around ppl bc u havent felt up to it then idk :(

if u distanced because theyre not the right people then maybe try and find a new group? thats what i did last year and it was honestly really draining at the time but so worth it now - the friends i was with were toxic in the last couple months and all we did was fight (one of them was my bff of 5 years)... so i kinda latched onto one of my other friends at the time and started hanging out with his group a lot more and yes it was awkward at first but over time i became friends with all of them and now i dont even care about my old friends!!!

spotify or apple music??

i kinda dont use either HAHAHAHAHA

my dad pays for the family apple music thing so if i ever wanna check out a new artist i use apple music? but i dont use the icloud music library to keep apple music stuff on my phone because it messes up my album artwork and im really picky about that

i just download stuff online and manually put it into my itunes which i know is SUPER outdated and tedious but i love having control over all my stuff

im not a huge fan of spotify bc its so playlist-intensive? i dont really listen to music in set playlists.. if im in a mood i make one and i delete it afterwards and thats kinda weird to do on spotify?? i like listening by artist usually

Hey Sasha! How are you? UCL is my dream school and the course you also got into is my dream course and I was wondering whether you have any personal statement/grades tips? (Congrats on UCL!!) And also if you don't mind me asking, why Edinburgh over UCL?

first of all thank you! and im doing good rn just relaxing over easter (when i should be studying for my A levels yikes) 3

in terms of grades and application stuff i answered an ask abt that a bit ago and i dont wanna repeat stuff so thats here if u want!!

for personal statements specifically, i think if u have anything special about urself make sure to start with that. so for me ive always gone to international schools and moved around a lot my whole life so i started with that to stand out - find ur thing!!!! :-)

and why edinburgh over UCL? honestly it was rly practical stuff… edinburgh was offering a home fee of £2000~ a year compared to UCL making me do a lot of fee status questionnaires which would determine whether i pay £9250 or £18000~, so edinburgh was the only possible choice in that aspect

but another thing was the course - UCL is social sciences and edi was sociology & psychology? i just liked the narrower course at edinburgh because theres more econs at UCL and yeah i like econs but i’d prefer just socio and psych if i had the option yknow

but UCL’s course is still really really good (it was my 2nd choice) and of course the actual uni is AMAZING and living in london is great - i hope u get in and i believe in u!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

serious question: how do u deal with jealousy if u ever do get jealous? i seem to be having that issue a lot recently :(

im probably the worst possible person to ask abt this :( i get jealous SO easily and its a real problem i have .. 

my best advice (that im trying to follow for myself right now) is to rly try and remove urself from the situation if thats possible?

so for me its a sort-of-ex sort-of-friend whos seeing someone new and i know hes really bad for me and im really just forcing myself to NOT text him (which is REALLY difficult for me, as an attention seeker) but i think its helping a lot

whats your situation if u dont mind sharing? and anyone that has any advice pls send me an ask so i can share it or just reply to this bc i rly need help too!!!
