How Do I Know If a Chiropractor Can Help Me?
If you've ever seen a chiropractor, you know they are medical practitioners who have a lot of confidence in their field. Chiropractic care, such as one from NW Rehab, is based on the premise that the body's musculoskeletal system is connected to all other systems of the body. When that system is not operating at optimal levels, the entire body can be affected. That includes the muscles, ligaments, joints, organs, and other tissues throughout the body. By working with chiropractors, you can correct these problems and restore your body's proper balance.
Tumblr media
Chiropractors perform adjustments to the spine in order to realign the alignment of the spine and surrounding tissue. As they realign the spine, they believe that this realignment will reduce pain and other symptoms. A chiropractor will often recommend physical therapy after an adjustment to enhance the benefits of the treatment. A chiropractor is the only health care provider who can accurately determine the source of your pain, whether it is due to an injury, illness, or neurological problem.
One of the most common treatments that chiropractors offer involves spinal manipulation. Spinal manipulation is a process by which trained professionals (chiropractors) apply a slow, steady force to a selected spinal joint or area. The purpose of this process is to realign the spine and encourage healing in the surrounding tissues. Often, chiropractors will suggest that their patients start stretching exercises or other pre-treatment activities to speed the healing rate. In fact, many chiropractors offer exercise programs that incorporate stretching into the program in order to help the patient achieve optimal benefits from spinal manipulation.
Another common treatment that a chiropractor may recommend is an upper neck exercise program. An upper neck exercise program is designed to strengthen the muscles that support the upper neck. Some of these programs are designed to strengthen the muscles of the shoulder, arms, and neck. Other upper neck strengthening exercises may include using resistance equipment, such as an arm lathe or fingerboard, or simply using one's own bodyweight to perform resistance exercises. When you start chiropractic adjustment sessions, the chiropractor may suggest that you do some simple upper neck exercises first to familiarize yourself with the adjustments that you will be made to your spine.
Once you are familiar with the adjustments you will be making, you will be able to understand what you will be doing during your first appointment. During your first appointment, the chiropractor will usually begin by asking you to relax your face, neck, and body. Then, the chiropractor will use his or her hands to massage specific areas on your body, such as the spine, neck, and arms. The chiropractor will then take a soft rub for muscle pain or stress, which can also be done by using your own hands. If your muscles are too sore or inflamed, the chiropractor may give you anti-inflammatory medication or a prescription for a pain reliever.
youtube
After massaging the area and applying the rub, the chiropractor will most likely give you a prescription for pain relievers, or analgesics, to take before you leave the office. These medications are sometimes administered before the actual chiropractic services begin. In addition to pain relievers, many chiropractors prescribe a nasal steroid spray or anti-inflammatory medication, which can help stop headaches, migraine headaches, and other types of migraine headaches that may occur during the course of chiropractic treatment. In some cases, the chiropractor may recommend physical therapy or exercise as additional treatments for back pain or other neck pain. This is usually at the patient's request if the patient feels that these additional treatments will help him or her better manage his or her pain.
Unlike regular doctors, chiropractors are not licensed to do laboratory tests, do physical examinations, and cannot write prescriptions. Although it is possible for patients to seek treatment from a chiropractor, however, he or she must first receive written approval from the chiropractor's medical doctor or from a state board of chiropractic. Some states require that chiropractors provide proof of certification from an accredited chiropractic school. To verify that your chiropractor is licensed, contact the appropriate licensing boards and/or inquire with your local physician.
It is important to remember that chiropractic is not considered a conventional form of medicine, so it is not appropriate for all health issues, such as back pain or migraine headaches. Before you make any chiropractic adjustments, it is best to first have your health care provider or doctor verify that the adjustments will not interfere with your doctor's prescriptions. Be sure to tell your chiropractor when you need to seek further medical care or when it would be a good idea for you to have an MRI or X-rays taken.

Effective Strategies for Blogging Success with Leslie Rubero
Running a blog takes time and effort, and it is not going to make you successful overnight. If you want to have a blog that will get people coming back to read more – and hopefully buying the products you sell, subscribing to your newsletter or booking your services – then you need to post consistently, and you need to make your content interesting and engaging. This article was inspired by Leslie Rubero, fantastic lifestyle and travel blogger.
Tumblr media
What Makes a Successful Blog
To have a successful blog, you need to have content that your readers want, and that search engines think of as being useful. You also need to get people checking your site on a regular basis. You will find that people are more likely to come to check your site if they can reasonably expect that there is some new content there, so let’s start with that part, post regularly.
It helps to have a clear strategy for your content. So, why not spend some time looking at that?
– Open up a spreadsheet, and make a table 53 rows long and several columns wide. The first column is for your table headers, and the first row is for dates, fill that with the 52 weeks of the year. Then going across, put the days of the week that you plan on posting.
– Look ahead at the industry you’re in, and use the cell highlighting feature to highlight weeks that are particularly important. Imagine that you’re a blogger that likes Pro Wrestling. You might want to highlight the Hall of Fame inductions, and WWE Wrestlemania as big events. There could be other events such as the release of a new wrestling game that year. Those are weeks that you will definitely want to flag up.
– Think about other seasonal things. You might want to do themed posts around Easter and Christmas. Flag those up so they don’t take you by surprise.
– On a separate sheet, write out some blog ideas that you already have. Perhaps you want to write about particular superstars, or how to get started in the industry. Perhaps you want to review some books and DVDs you already own, or do a comparison between different subscription services. Whenever you have an idea for something you want to write, put it in that list.
– Set aside some time to trawl stock photography sites, and to invest in creating artworks for yourself. Use this time to put together a database of images that you can use for your posts.
– Commit to posting on a set day, and a set number of times per week. Aim low, because you’ll probably find that it’s harder than you think to post to a schedule. Make sure that you post on the day you’ve scheduled, every time. Be consistent! If you’re on a roll and able to write loads of content, pick something that’s on your list, write it and save the draft – then when you’re stuck for ideas one day or in a hurry you can post something from your backlog.
Marketing Your Posts
Content is great, but you need readers. At first you’ll be talking to yourself and a couple of friends that you cajole into reading your blog, but over time you’ll get more and more people coming to read your posts. Try commenting on other people’s blogs (but read the blog, and leave an insightful comment – don’t just spam your link without purpose). Link to your blog in your forum profiles, and join blog carnivals or exchanges where people agree to talk about a specific subject on a specific day. Make these posts in addition to the other content that you plan on posting.
– Set up a newsletter, and build up a list of subscribers. Use that to get people coming back to your site on a regular basis. Over time, you’ll find that you will get a stable list of readers, and that they’ll link to you, share your blog with their friends and your audience will grow.
– Use social media. Get out there on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and post lots. Join in discussions, share your content and share lots of photos. Regular sharing of content is what will make the difference between a successful poster and someone whose posts get ignored.
– Spruce up your blog with plugins that make it easy for people to like, follow, share and comment. Make sure your RSS feeds are working, and make sure that your blog is full of images and rich media too.
Blogging takes time, and at first you are going to feel like you’re going nowhere, but keep posting! Make sure that your content is as accessible as possible. Avoid ‘in jokes’ and talking to the reader like they are your best friend. It’s OK to have a conversational tone, but if you assume that everyone who comes to your site has read all your other posts, then you might find that you drive away people who are new to your site because they don’t understand the content. When you’re running a blog that is intended as a moneymaker, you need to make an effort to help your readers engage with you, and to cater to everyone who is interested in your content.
When you’re ready to monetise your blog, start adding the occasional ad and sponsored link, but make sure that you aren’t pushing too hard to get people to open their wallets. The best influencers walk a fine line between promoting products that they really like, and selling. If you go too far in either direction then you won’t make any money – and if you alienate your audience then it’s going to be hard to get them back, because you’ll end up trapped in a situation where people don’t trust what you have to say. Rebuilding that trust is much harder than earning it in the first place, and it isn’t always possible if you operate in a very small niche.

Emergency Preparedness Plan for Your Home
Disasters both natural and man-made happen even in the US and everyone should have an emergency preparedness plan for their home in just such cases. Recent natural disaster would include hurricanes like Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Andrew, and Hugo to name just a few of the more costly ones. Then you have snow storms that take out power lines and make the road un-drivable every year. Not to mention floods that take out homes, roads and entire neighborhoods. Of course, you also have man-made disasters like terrorist attacks and the like that my cut power or even leave you homeless.
Tumblr media
Here is a basic sketch of an emergency preparedness plan for your home that you should have in place well in advance of a disaster or emergency happening in your area. It’s important that you plan ahead of time, because in a time of disaster is not when you need to get ready for one.
Food and Water
You should ideally have enough food and water for 7 days in your emergency preparedness plan for your home. The government recommends at least 3 days worth of supplies because it projects that it wouldn’t take much longer for government relief agencies to get to your home and neighborhood. But consider this, it took FEMA 5 days to get to the victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. In case of a major disaster, especially in a more remote area, the time frame could be worse.
You should have at least 1 gallon of water per person a day on hand for drinking, cooking and cleaning. That means buying those big jugs of water and storing them in your basement. You should figure out a rotation schedule for your water if you buy water normally to keep the water fresh.
You should also have 7 days of non-perishable food for everyone in your household. Can foods like canned vegetables and fruits, canned meats, and soups are good to have. Dehydrated foods like instant noodles and macaroni and cheese are also good to keep stored. Already mentioned few times on our website MRE meals are also great for any emergency situation. Just in case you didn’t check previous articles here are just a few suppliers you can choose from XMRE, Eversafe MREs, MRE Star, Meal Kit Supply, and Sopakco.
Power Source and Communications
You may not have power for longer than that so you need to be ready with the right supplies incorporated into your emergency preparedness plan for your home. Have enough flash lights for your home, as well as plenty of extra batteries. A gas BBQ grill or a butane portable camping stoves are good to have too. Make sure you have extra canisters of butane if you go the camping stove route.
For portable electrical power, you can also get a car jump starter. Most of these come with an AC and DC outlet that you can plug your electronic devices like radios, cell phones and laptop computers into. You may especially need something like this to recharge your cell phone for emergency communications as well as for your radio to listen for news concerning the disaster.
First Aid Kit
You also want to keep a first aid kit around the house. You should have one of these anyways, but in an emergency situation, this is something you definitely need to have.
These are the basic things you need to get before hand in your emergency preparedness plan for your home.

Emergency Water Storage Preparedness
The human body can only get by three days without drinking water. Water is really a high priority with regards to emergency preparedness.
Tumblr media
In most homes, nearly twenty-five gallons of water each day is used by each person. This isn’t only drinking water, but that used for cleaning cooking and flushing also. The majority of the systems that are used to provide water to these homes are driven by electricity. This includes those houses that make use of well water, because they often use electric pump systems. So, water storage is very important should the power grid stops working.
It’s wise to have a week’s worth of water saved for your family. With conscientious usage, two to three gallons per person will be adequate in very warm temperatures. Half of this water will be employed for drinking. The remainder is going to be used for hygiene and cooking. While you may not drink nearly this much water on a daily basis, keep in mind that other liquids will be minimal. You will also likely be living with no air conditioning or electric fans. You will need to replenish water shed via sweating as well as respiration.
If you are warned that there is an impending scarcity, you’ll be able to fill all storage containers in your house which are sufficiently strong to hold water without leaks: ice chests, buckets, bowls, bathtubs, sinks, and so forth. Separate your water into two groups: drinking and nondrinking uses.
It is wise to prepare for at least 7 days without water. This would mean that each member of your family will need twenty-one gallons of water in storage. To be safe, you may wish to double this amount. For 5 people, this would mean 105 gallons of water should be stored. Twice that amount would be over 200 gallons. Translated, this would mean you’d want two to four, 55-gallon drums.
A gallon of water weighs in at just a little less than 8.5 pounds. Take this into account when thinking about storage and transportation of water. Quantities of water would be better stored on a strengthened concrete floor as 55 gallons of water (not including the weight of the drum) would weigh almost 500 pounds. This is often too heavy for most various other flooring systems.
Should the unforeseen occur, get useable water from various other places on your property. Typical domestic hot water heaters may contain forty or even more gallons of drinkable water. Drinkable water can be retrieved from the tank on a commode. Ice cubes within the deep freeze are another source. Make sure you utilize the water in canned food items as every drop matters whenever water is scarce.
Water may be obtained coming from downspouts or inside a kid’s wading pool during a rain. You can place a clean sheet or bedspread out in the course of the rain or overnight on the your lawn to gather the dew. Wring it out over a storage container. Harvest non-drinking water from toilet bowls and waterbed mattresses.
Plan ahead to prepare for possible water shortages. Use your creative imagination to renew stored water whenever utilities are not functioning. Educate yourself and your family members to preserve the water you DO possess.

Hurricane Preparedness for Inland Communities
As another hurricane season is upon us, one of the forgotten challenges is how mass evacuations of coastal communities can affect inland communities that are tasked with housing and supporting a huge influx of people. This in itself can create its own kind of hurricane emergency, so it is important for inland communities to prepare for mass evacuations with the proper emergency rations and disaster supplies that are needed when everyday resources become limited by a sudden crush of people.Do you live on a hurricane evacuation route?
Tumblr media
If you live on a hurricane evacuation route, like a major interstate or highway with designated contra-flow lanes, then it would be smart to keep a ready stock of disaster supplies in your home. When mass evacuations occur, things we take for granted are suddenly in short supply. You may not be able to get gas, water, and even bread! In fact, you may find it impossible to even drive across town. Emergency rations will be purchased not only by your town people, but by people running from the hurricane. Therefore, stock up on canned goods, meals ready to eat, personal hygiene items, bottled water and soft drinks, and five-gallon containers of gasoline. These things can be bought and stored at the very beginning of hurricane season. If the National Hurricane Center reports that a hurricane is headed towards a coastal town that would evacuate to your area, then it’s time to buy nonperishables that you will need for the duration of not only the hurricane itself, but a few days before and after. Mass evacuations start before the hurricane comes inland. Then it may be a few days before authorities allow people back into coastal communities, so make sure you have what you need to stay home and supplied for at least a week.
It is unlikely that you will be without electricity or infrastructures that keep your home comfortable. What you’ll find to be more problematic during a hurricane is your ability to get everyday supplies that we normally take for granted.
Dealing with more people than your town can accommodate
So you’re well prepared with emergency rations and disaster supplies, but you still have to go to work and live in your overcrowded town. Mass evacuations pose another problem for inland communities; too many people. Since everyone is expected to evacuate during a hurricane, that means not all of those people in your town will be nice people. Therefore, you’ll need to be prepared from a safety standpoint, too. Make sure all of your doors and storage units are securely locked. Don’t leave items that are easily stolen in the open. Don’t assist strangers if you feel nervous about the individual. Call your local law enforcement if you see someone in distress. Don’t give people money. Try to keep your travel efficient – work to home. Don’t feel compelled to share your emergency rations with strangers. If an emergency preparedness official asks you to, then consider doing it, but protect yourself and your property. If you see any questionable activity during the mass evacuation, call law enforcement. And don’t forget about your pets! Make sure you have plenty of food and a safe place for them, too.
Ways you can help
It is good to volunteer to help out during emergency mass evacuations, so check with your local emergency agencies at the beginning of hurricane season. Find out what they need stocked in shelters. Find out where you can volunteer, and go ahead and sign up. One of the biggest mistakes well-meaning citizens make during hurricane evacuations is waiting until the thick of the disaster to offer help and supplies. A mass evacuation requires enormous planning, and emergency workers are dealing with a multitude of problems. They will not have time to take your donated disaster supplies and stock and distribute them right in the middle of an event. Unless there is an official request for more emergency rations, don’t get in the way by being helpful at the last minute because it isn’t helpful at all. Make the volunteer commitment now, and then follow through with your commitment if you’re needed. If you want to donate supplies, FEMA has great lists of supplies that are needed during a disaster. Along with food and fuel, medical supplies are often needed by relief organizations. These are things that can be purchased and donated long in advance of the hurricane. If you want to stay prepared to help out, or you simply want to protect yourself during a hurricane mass evacuation, you’ll find the most accurate hurricane tracking at NOAA’s website. After Katrina, Rita and Ike, the people of the Gulf Coast learned that mass evacuations are extremely tiring for both the evacuating communities and the host towns.

How to Create an Emergency Preparedness Kit
Everyone should be prepared in the event of an emergency. While the idea of prepared may differ from person to person there are many things that should be thought of well in advance. Food, personal documents, and irreplaceable items are the most important things to prepare well ahead of time. Jobs will not always be stable and you cannot rely on being able to afford to buy things if an emergency does occur.
Tumblr media
Storage
The most important thing is to have everything in one location that is easily picked up and taken with you. Some people choose to use a plastic tub which can act as a storage bin and as a water collector or a toilet in the event of a catastrophe. If you are planning on supplying many people then a tub is the best option. If you are going to only supply yourself you may be better off just using a backpack or some sort of bag that can be grabbed quickly and carried with you.
Food
In the event of an emergency, you should have at least enough food for three days for everyone in your group. This may be your family, your friends, or just people you know you will meet up with later. While three is recommended there is nothing wrong with having more than enough food to last for much longer. The caloric intake will vary by age but it is recommended that during dire times the calories be around 2000 calories per day per person. You should buy things that will not go bad quickly. The purpose of this kit is to be around and useful in the event of an emergency. You can buy mre meals, canned goods that last more than one year, or boxed items like pastas, noodles, and cereal. Packaged food works well too, like oatmeal and cream of wheat. These kinds of foods will not be exposed to the elements and very well could be used past expiration if needed. Remember to thoroughly cook all food before serving and to have packed a hand crank can opener if you have packed canned goods. For meals ready to eat you have many options to choose from, the most common are military grade MREs and civilian MREs. Manufacturers like XMRE had developed Blue Line MREs, particularly designed for an emergency situation.
vimeo
Water
You should have at least one gallon of water per person per day. This takes up a lot of space and there are many alternatives to this if you find yourself heading for water after the disaster. You can buy and carry water purification tablets, water purifiers that filter water as it is poured in, and even just carrying a pot and cloth to strain and boil water is better than nothing. Remember that you can live days without food, but only a day or two without water before the effects set in. Without water you will become dizzy and disoriented and will lose much of your strength. This will hinder everyone around you and you should want to be in your best physical conditions in case there is a need to move locations.
First aid
First aid is something that should always be considered in the event of an emergency. There will most likely be someone needing medical attention and if this cannot be obtained right away by having some supplies on hand you have a better chance of helping someone survive. Some basic essentials are band aids, gauze pads, sterile swabs, alcohol, peroxide, and something to prepare a sling. While you can add on to this list, this is a great way to start off your first aid kit.
Money
While money may not prove to be beneficial at the start of things, there will eventually come a time where money will have power. You may choose to only pack a credit card but some form of money is essential in the event you remove yourself from the site and find civilization elsewhere. I would recommend at least a months’ worth of money, but having more is never a problem. By adding it to your bank account and carrying or storing a debit card you will be able to retrieve the money when needed and when it will be most useful.
This is list of things that are absolutely essential when it comes to packing and storing an emergency preparedness kit. There will be many things that you will need to add based on the people you have with you but most importantly you should have food and water. There is no way to survive without these items and if you want to find help, you will need the first aid kit if injured. If you enjoyed this article you may want to check our Hurricane Preparedness article here.

Flooding in Thailand Reiterates the Need for Emergency Preparedness
Various news reports have recently reported on the most recent flooding in Thailand. Flooding is nothing new in Bangkok, the city itself is built on a swamp and the city’s elevation is approximately seven feet above sea level. Combine these facts with heavy monsoon rains and Bangkok is a recipe for disaster.
Tumblr media
The monsoon season of 1984, when I was in Bangkok was also brutal. I waded in knee deep water for at least a month, busses had to be modified so that the exhaust pipes were channeled up the sided of the bus above the flood water. I had friends who had to hire a boat to get home and when they floated up, the neighborhood kids were fishing in the driveway.
This year is however particularly dire and as of November 7, 2011 the high water has claimed the lives of over 500 people. In addition to the loss of human life, thousands of domestic animals had have fallen victim to the deluge. Most disaster shelters will not allow animals, so many of the Thais have been forced to abandon their pets.
This is not unlike the situation many people found themselves in when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in August of 2005. As a result of Katrina about 600,000 thousand animals died or were displaced. Although there is no way to quantify numbers, it is supposed that some people were not willing to evacuate without taking their pets and died as a result.
Volunteers are trying their best to recover and care for stranded animals under very difficult circumstances. Part of the challenge in Thailand is the overwhelming population of stray dogs in the country. Bangkok is an exotic city full of intriguing sights and sounds, but seeing these stray animals in ill health is heart-wrenching. In 2009 The National Geographic estimated that there were approximately 300,000 feral dogs in Bangkok alone. These stray dogs pose a huge problem for rescuers as most to them will be difficult, if not downright dangerous to handle. In addition to their behavior problems, many will be infected with various diseases including rabies, which will make the situation even more dangerous.
Including animals for future natural and manmade disasters must be part of international, national and family plans. Since Hurricane Katrina “Rep. Tom Lantos introduced H.R. 3858, which would require local and state emergency preparedness authorities to include pets and service animals in evacuation plans.”
Part of your individual family approach should include making plans to transport and shelter your pets. The website petfriendlytravel.com is an excellent source of information to help you to plan for upcoming disasters with your pets in mind. Properly identifying your pet increases the probability that you will be reunited in the eventuality that you are separated from your pets.
You cannot plan for every eventuality or for every unexpected event in your life. You will, however, be better equipped to respond in a positive manner to any emergency if you have a plan in place.

Hurricane Preparedness for Manatee County Florida
Hurricane season officially begins June 1st and now would be a good time for the residents of Manatee County, in Florida, to go over their hurricane preparedness list. You can start by checking the new evacuation zone map that came out this year.
Tumblr media
New and better technology was used to determine the true high and low areas in the county, so what was considered high ground in the past, could possibly now be low enough that the residents in those areas will have to evacuate – even if the hurricane is a category one.
This is important because of flooding due to the storm surge that is created by these storms. Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, Anna Maria and other cities along the west coast of Manatee County have always had problems in this particular area, but now it has been determined that this flooding can affect areas far inland.
Of course, Manatee County not only has to contend with flooding from the Gulf of Mexico, but also from the Manatee and Braden Rivers. Anyone living near these rivers should be prepared to evacuate.
If you go to www.mymanatee.org and click on view the new evacuation zone map, you will see what areas are affected, locations of all the evacuation shelters and the evacuation routes.
It has been predicted that the 2017 – 18 storm season will be higher than normal. It’s estimated that there will be 11 to 16 tropical storms this year – 6 to 8 of them could become hurricanes and at least 3 to 5 of those could well become hurricanes that fall within the category 3 or higher range.
My advice when it comes to hurricanes is to board up your house and leave town, but even that can defect the purpose if you happen to go to a city that turns out to be in the path of the storm. You can always go to an evacuation shelter, or if your home is on high ground, and you feel it is sturdy enough to withstand winds of 75 to 200 miles per hour – then prepare to hunker down and ride it out.
Either way, your home pantry should be stocked with everything you will need if your city or neighborhood is struck by a hurricane and you end up stranded there. It should have everything you need and a little more. There are some items you need to include that you probably will never think about, that’s why I added the list below. Compare your list to it and see if you have everything.
Hurricane Preparedness List
Canned Meats: • tuna • chicken • ham • beef stew
Canned Vegetables: • beans • peas • corn • potatoes • tomatoes • soup
Canned Fruit: • fruit cocktail • peaches • pears • applesauce
Dry Goods: • cereal • instant oatmeal • dried fruit (raisins, apricots, plums) • pastas • rice • bread • crackers • energy bars • rice cakes • peanut butter • pudding cups • trail mix • instant mashed potatoes
Self-heating Meals:
• You can choose from wide selection of military grade or civilian MREs. Companies to check XMRE, Eversafe MREs, MRE Start, Meal Kit Supply
Space prevents me from completing the hurricane preparedness list, but you get the general idea. You can also add canned evaporated milk and powdered milk. Don’t forget to add water and the small cartons of fruit juice – as well as some kind of grill for cooking and all your personal items like medicine, needles, alcohol swabs, pads, tampons, diapers, powder, deodorant, toothpaste, brushes and combs.
You should also have paper plates, towel paper, toilet paper, paper cups and bowls and your plastic utensils. Why not add some kind of hand sanitizer to your list, as well as an ice chest to store ice, water and anything else you want to keep cold. Last, don’t forget your pets and the food they will need.
The people in Manatee County, Florida may not realize the importance of hurricane preparedness or any of this, especially since we haven’t experienced a major hurricane coming through our county since October 1946, and luckily for us, that storm was already losing its strength by the time it made landfall.
We have had some close calls however – hurricane Donna in 1960 and hurricanes Charley, Frances and Jeanne in 2004 all had certain parts of Manatee County experiencing wind gusts up to 125 miles per hour.

How to Own a Luxurious Home
When thinking of luxurious houses, oftentimes a mansion comes to mind. Even though mansions are indeed luxurious, there are many other gorgeous homes that deserve the title. Colonial style homes are magnificently eye catching with their towering porch columns and grand features that take you back to the era of early America. Many of these styles of homes are made primarily of wood, feature large fireplaces and elegant furniture. If you would rather a home more reminiscent of a castle, a stately English Manor home will fit your taste perfectly. The manor houses built today are not as grand as the ones built in ancient times, but you will still find English Manor homes standing majestically against the backdrop of the England sky. Many of the private residential chateaux homes were once owned by statesmen or royalty and featured moats and cobblestone structures. If you want a luxurious home that is considered both romantic and charming, you should take a peek at Tuscany style Italian villas.
Tumblr media
Cottage homes come in a variety of styles ranging from sophisticated beach cottage to charming country themes. They are built to be more compact and with less square footage than a typical home, but still have enough space to make them perfect for smaller families or couples. Cottages are built to be both cute and cozy. Many feature gingerbread trim, arched doors and little fireplaces neatly tucked into a comfy living room.
Tumblr media
A favorite home style in the southern states is the country farmhouse. These lovely homes are usually two stories and have plenty of space to accommodate larger families. It is typical for them to be built of wood or brick on property that is surrounded by plenty of land. They feature large wrap around porches, trailing white picket fences and barns can be seen scattered about the property.

Home - Detailed Insight
Let’s have a detailed insight into the concept of home styles. The guide to home styles starts with choosing the right kind of home. Every family member’s choice, numbers of rooms needed and budget are some of the key factors that shall be kept in mind when buying a house. There are different home styles that make a good option while selecting a house. Some of the popular ones are described below:
Tumblr media
American Colonial: When North America was colonized, settlers brought building traditions from many different countries. Till date buildings reflect the architecture of America’s colonial period.
Classical styles: This type of style expresses the ideals of democracy. Thus, the architecture reflected classical ideals of order and symmetry.
