i get that kevin day is not everyone's cup of tea. i get it. but to mischaracterize him to the point of denying his trauma is baffling to me. like okay! i know that the main trilogy is from neil's point of view, and with the new coming we have jean's pov too, both who were people who once admired the men and then became dissapointed with some of his behavior. but you guys don't really understand how their relationship with kevin is complex. they're annoyed by his self destructive behavior becase of how much they fucking like him. they don't understand how someone who was born with this talent and will to play is also slowly destroying himself because he doesnt know how to deal with all the bullshit he went through. neil and jean also have their own traumas to deal with. they SUCK at supporting others, they barely can deal with their own wounds. kevin grew up having a family, a terrible one, but one nonetheless. so you think he grabbed the opportunity to try having the foxes as a replacement huh? well that shit clearly didnt work as well, as we can see. even andrew, who was supposed to be by his side "betrayed" him. we dont see kevin's pov. we don't see how he reacts to that internally. his outbursts during practice are nothing compared to how he really shouldve been reacting after all of this. everyone is quick to jump into neil's and jean's defense because thats the only part of the story we have acess to, but barely no one does the job to practice empathy with other characters, especially kevin
