Dangan Atlantis Update 2: Chapter 1 Part 1

Where did we leave off?

Right, right. Killing game. Fun!

Everyone goes about their days, doing their own thing. The Monomachine is revealed a few days after their imprisonment, and everyone has fun with it for a while. They hope something of use will come out eventually, but it doesn’t seem like that’ll ever happen.

However, a week passes before anything truly of note happens.

As they wake up, Monofuka announces the motive he mentioned he was planning. No one is allowed to sleep. A bracelet clamped around the wrists of each of the students injects a toxin similar to adrenaline whenever they start to drift off to keep them awake. If you manage to sleep, you will be punished.

And just the next day... well, it became clear he was definitely serious.

The students are called into the gymnasium.

When they arrive, one person is missing. Saeru Saeki, SHSL Osteologist.

Monofuka explains that someone broke the rules. It’s obvious who ‘someone’ is.

And then?

A big red button emerged from the podium, the shark eagerly slamming it. From the moment it was hit, the front of the podium unhinged and a collar with a chain attached shot out. It snaked its way through the crowd and out the doors until the chain itself went taught.

 In the distance, annoyed yelling was heard echoing through the facility. Familiar annoyed yelling. Saeru Saeki was dragged into the gym, the collar and chain around their neck. They were squirming, trying to escape their imprisonment but to no avail. They were swearing, clawing desperately at the collar as they were dragged upwards to the ceiling. 

 “Yuh huh...I have a pretty cool punishment for the chump you guys know as Saeru Saeki, SHSL Osteologist...yuh huh…” Monofuka announced. “I call this one...Live Sharkbait!” 

GAME OVER 

Saeru Saeki disobeyed the rules. Time for your punishment! 

Part of the gym’s floor in front of the students began to slide open, a humongous tank of water arising from below. Swimming around slowly in the tank was a dozen sharks, all painted to look like Monofuka himself. They looked around, their beady eyes hungering for whatever they could sink their teeth into. Luckily for the sharks, their feast was dangling above the tank and thrashing about desperately. Saeru’s face, for once, showed genuine fear for their life. With a low cackle, Monofuka pressed the button once more and the osteologist plummeted.

Their screams subsided once they landed into the water, the splash somewhat escaping the tank. A glass lid slid over the top, preventing any sort of escape attempt to be made. Though it was inaudible, Saeru screamed their lungs out. They quickly swam over to the glass wall, pounding against it; a final cry for help. All the commotion riled up the starving sharks and in a swift motion, they all darted at the osteologist. Jagged rows of teeth were sunk into their flesh, tearing it apart like paper. More thrashing came from within, the amassment of bodies ramming into the glass walls. Within seconds, the water was now murky with blood, the pink liquid obscuring the view. Though it was unseen, one thing was for sure.

Saeru Saeki is DEAD

And, on that note, Chapter One is halfway through. How much longer can they last? How much longer until someone else is punished? How much longer until someone kills?

They’ll just have to find out.

Dangan Atlantis Update 1: Prologue

Our cast awakens in their dorms, remembering nothing but stepping into Hope's Peak Academy. After taking a few minutes to investigate the room and wonder where the hell they are, they all leave their dorms to further look around and get introductions out of the way.

They figure out they aren't at Hope's Peak rather quickly, though some choose not to believe it at first. Upon realizing they're at the bottom of the ocean, they react in their own unique ways. Horror, fascination, anxiety, boredom.

After that, they all part ways.

Everyone just does their own thing for a while, until they're called to the gymnasium by a mysterious, deep voice.

As soon as they get there, a walking, talking, robotic shark appears and claims to be their Headmaster Monofuka. Similarly to earlier, the students react in their own ways. Horror, denial, shock, confusion.

Iosif thinks he's going to eat them, but Saeru says that he won't if they eat it first. They refuse to. So Saeru says they will, instead. This sparks a debate over whether or not they should eat the shark, distracting everyone from the main problem at hand. 

As the killing game is announced, everyone's snapped back to reality. Hisomiro panics and desperately tries to leave the gym, and a few other students question the shark. Umi is excited about the game, not seeming to realize it’s true nature. Overall, most of everyone hates it.

As a threat, Monofuka reveals some of the students's secrets, though he doesn't say who's is who's.

One of them includes the fact that someone among them is the mastermind, though it's quickly dismissed by most of the cast for a few different reasons.

Afterwards, Monofuka allows the students to leave the gym, much to their relief.

Thus concludes our Prologue.

what time zone are the mods in? i'm not sure how much longer i have to work on my app, aha.;;

if we app more than one character, will we get a higher chance of getting choosen?? or do you look more into how we roleplay and don't care as much about the characters??

Here’s the thing: We look at the characters and their backstory and all that more than we look at the roleplay prompt. That’s not to say we don’t look at the prompt, it’s just that it’s not a big deal to us in comparison to the actual character. I guess long story short, if you app up to three characters I guess you have more of a chance in a way?

how often do you update the submitted?

Uhhh…it kinda varies, I’m not gonna lie. Sometimes I do it, sometimes the other mods do, or sometimes it’s not updated at all. Rest assured, I’ll update it after this post.-Mod Kala

would you like submission/application titles to be formatted a certain way? eg., Character || Talent || Mun? i swear i read that somewhere but i can't find it anywhere.

There isn’t exactly a specific way I want you to format it, as long as you have the details in the right category. If I recall, the app already has titles and stuff regarding things like OOC, IC, Murder Prompts, etc.

New Deadline

I'm getting a bit confused with the application, what do you mean when asking who we can't be in a group with?

It means people that you either don’t get along with or would much rather not be in a game with. If you have such a person or people, please put their name and Discord.

Announcement

There are two things I would like to address regarding the applications we have received.

1: Put your app in a google doc, and submit the link to us. Submitting it in it's entirety takes up space in the inbox and makes going through it a hassle. If you have already submitted your app like this, please resubmit it in the way I described above and let us know.

2: Give your Monomachine items descriptions. We've gotten numerous apps where the items didn't have any descriptions. Please write the descriptions (resubmit if your app was also not in a doc) and let us know.

If you are confused about anything else, there is a sample app on the /apps page.

This isn't meant to be rude or anything like that - it's meant to help those who may be new to the DR RP community and made simple, easy mistakes. Thank you for understanding!

Will there be illustrations of all the students?
