Hi! Any tips for anatomy / drawing eyes? I love the way you do it!!!!

Of course!! I think a huge thing that goes unnoticed or more accurately gets incorrectly understood when drawing anime eyes is the visual language being employed. (Under cut for ref image dump + Close ups of eyes, even if it's for anatomy! )

Lines above and around the eyes in an anime style aren't and shouldn't be random, they are expressing the epicanthic fold or lack thereof, eyebags, and the eye socket in general. There's a lot of great references by Anatomy For Sculptors. IN GENERAL if you can get your hands on any sort of sculpting or 3D modeling material for eyes - this helps so much! At least, personally, sculpting stuff unlocked my brain better for drawing eyes.

Hey everyone! Still working on answering all the asks in the inbox, (Sorry I am so so slow with this but I want to put in effort to properly answer each!) however, I'm going to make a concerted effort to do artfight this year to push myself back into the swing of things. FORGIVE MY PAGE AND CHARAS BEING A MESS, I'm setting up late into the game.

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY - If you have danganronpa / fangan ocs and attack me, I will be trying my best to revenge by doing tons of busts(waist-ups if time allows) in my SD style for these types of OCs. this is also assuming you specifically want japanese names (assuming cause of DR) but there are also a lot of good global name database sites like behindthename (and surname) and wikitionary's forename and surname databases

Most of them i have only little initial doodles of - I've shared a few of them here already without anybody knowing hehe.

i'll end up doodling some more of them / refining them inevitably....

Would you ever consider making character adopts? You have such a way with design, and I'd kill to own something you've made

I have done adopts in the past, but it's been forever. Maybe sometime in the future! One time I did some quick design sketches inspired by the stuff from this old post that I could tool into adopts one day. Who knows!

What's your character design process? How do you come up with designs, bcuz I LOVE!! your character designs!

I've talked about this for a few released characters in this tag here! But in general, it really depends (like, if its personal, for a project, for an rp, or how i get inspired initially). I am also like, a huge proponent of like having them cook a little bit in the oven by doing an initial design - drawing them for a while and getting more comfortable with what im doing - and then every character ends up changing slightly the more and more you draw them.

Are there any unused characters that you came up with for the SD cast but didn't end up adding them?

So there are actually two who late into my cast planning I cut because I just felt they weren't really strong or adding something I wanted. The stronger of the two I have a very basic sketch and a veeery basic blurb about.

Nemu - SHSL Sleep Therapist - Claims to be a magical girl who uses powerful spells to put people to sleep. Started out as a cuddle cafe employee, but word spread quickly that even horrible insomniacs could sleep soundly on her lap she began to be marketed as "Magical Sleeping Girl Nemurin". Many called her therapeutic and lead Nemu into considering her future career as a Sleep Therapist.

(Casts a spell saying "Pipo Pipo Pi po" or some other combination of those, says in human reality it has an ASMR effect on top of magic. ) "I"m a mystical entertainer! Like Harry Houdini!" - Her

The other character was a male Detection Dog Trainer (dogs who sniff out cancer inclined).
