demon!eddie and his human are bonding 😉 it’s around 45k right now

“Wonder what my demon name would be if I was a demon. Would I be Prince material? Maybe I could start out as an Earl or something and work my way up. Does it work like that?

Or start as a Viscount?” Eddie recognises the thinking face in front of him, “Is an Earl higher or lower than a Viscount? Or is that a Count? Are they the same thing? How do you get promoted in Hell or is it like hereditary? Is it the same as when you get retired but like the opposite? You have to do the retiring yourself?”

Once again left momentarily speechless by how his human’s brain works Eddie can only shake his head. Eventually he finds the words to shut down such dangerous speculation.

“Well as you’re not going to be a demon of any kind, you don’t have to worry about it much do you?”

Buck laughs and scans his notes, pen tapping the page thoughtfully.

“It’s just really interesting. I like learning new things. Maddie used to encourage me loads when I was young. I kept learning afterwards so she’d be proud of me one day. Mom and dad didn’t seem to care too much what I did but I managed ok by myself.”

Still working on Stick With Me Baby!! The rewrite is so much more fun than the original y'all. Have some of what I just wrote:

Eddie runs a hand through his hair self consciously. “Well, from the sounds of things, they're not too different from you and I.” And doesn't that give him something to think about? “True,” Buck nods. “No concept of personal space.” “Practically joined at the hip,” Eddie says, taking a tentative step closer to him. “Can't keep their eyes off each other,” Buck adds. He makes a slow scan of Eddie's body, a sparkle in his eyes. His pupils have almost eclipsed the bright blue. Eddie determinedly ignores the blush rising on his cheeks and the tips of his ears. He lets himself look at Buck. Lets himself take in the curve of his muscles beneath his shirt and the hint of stubble along his jaw and the fullness of his lips. “Why would they look anywhere else?” The huskiness of his voice surprises him. “There's just one thing missing,” Buck says, a smile– no, a smirk– on his lips. He steps into Eddie's space, close enough Eddie can feel his hot breath fan his lips. Eddie's mouth goes dry and he swallows. “What’s that?” he asks, barely above a whisper. Eddie doesn't know who moves first. He'll think about it later. What matters is this: Buck cups his face in his hands, drawing him into a kiss that makes Eddie’s knees weak.

Tease Tidbit Tuesday

Hello! Somemore of my space fic is coming together! I've been getting that feeling in my gut lately that it's almost ready... which is crazy. Here's a little snippet from it!

Ultimately, what gets him isn’t one of the usual suspects. Despite Karen’s kind words and knowing smile, despite Maddie’s insistence that his happiness is more important than his fear, despite Eddie being as solid as a rock by his side for years. It’s none of these things that push him over the edge from yearning to do something, to planning to do something. It’s - in typical universe fashion - something much simpler than that.

Hi Saturn! I wasn't sure if this was 25 sentences or emojis so I went with sentences because that's all the beans were allowing today! Hope that's okay!

✨ - 25 for Stargazing Fic

“Why would you try and take him from me? I’d just gotten him!” This isn’t strictly true, but Buck remembers. He remembers the timing of the last time he talked to the stars, begging them for someone that would stick by him and have his back. It had been less than 2 weeks later that Badass Veteran Edmundo Diaz had walked into the station, with his perfect hair, and his perfect abs, and his “you can have my back any day.” Buck wishes it hadn’t taken him nearly 2 years to figure out that the stars had granted his wish after all. No one else has stuck by him the last few years, through thick and thin, like Eddie. Buck wipes his nose with the edge of his shirt collar, blinking away a film of tears that makes him see double. “I-I know he’s alive and made it through surgery, a-and I’m grateful for that,” Buck starts, wondering if praise and appeasement might gain the favour of the fickle celestial beings. “But Bobby says the doctors don’t think he’s out of the woods just yet. He’s in-in a coma now. They say the wound shattered his shoulder and nearly nicked an artery. He’s needed so many units of blood, and the doctors still think there’s a risk of him going into shock.” Buck’s grip on the railing of the balcony tightens, his knuckles turning white as he chokes back a sob. “You can’t kill him. You can’t let him die. You have to save him, please. H-he’s… he’s important. He’s a father – his son, Christopher, is just a kid, and he hasn’t got anyone else. It’s just Eddie. And he’s got his Tia and Abuela here too, and he’s an amazing firefighter and medic. And he’s – ” Buck goes silent as his throat tightens, blinking as a tear streaks down his cheek. “He’s my best friend,” he finally manages, his voice strangled. “Please give him back. I-I’ll do anything.”
