Te si kɛ je - Wake up
I wonder if I should try that waking up at dawn to dedicate time to learn languages before going to work? Do people actually do that? Have you done that? Is it worth it?

Wake up
Tumblr media
Dangme phrasal werb that means "to wake up" is formed by combining four words (get up + down + move + leave)
(Note: I thought "kɛ" means "and" but this linguistic study translates it in tis context as "move". I am a bit confused. I understand this as literally "Get up and leave" as in get up from bed and leave the bed.
"Te si" alone would mean get up. Allthough si means down but that is how the logic goes. Probably like you are standing on the ground which is down.
"Kɛ" means "and" but the linguistic study that I got this from translates it in this context as "move". I am a bit confused. I understand this as literally "Get up and leave" as in get up from bed and leave the bed.
"Je" means leave.
Ngmlàá à há Òkó tè sì kὲ jè è máhé ɔ̀ mì.
“The noise caused Oko to wake up from his sleep.”

I mean…. Lets make everybody use Finnish pronouns. Problem solved. No?
instagramissa voi nykyään valita 14 eri kielellä bioonsa nimensä viereen pronominit, joita toivoo itsestään käytettävän. kieli valitaan ja hakukentällä voi etsiä pronomineja valittavaksi. yksi näistä kielivaihtoehdoista on suomi.

Dude has hacked Finnish. Respect.
Suomi on mun suosikkikieli koska mä tykkään sekoittaa kaksi sanaa yhdessä, esim englanniksi "brawing" (bra drawing) ja suomeksi "maustennus" (mauste masennus). Huonoja vitsejä, mä tiiän
Mä näinkin sanan "nukkumaanmenoaikani" ja ehkä se on virallinen sana mutta mä luen sen kuten "sleep-go-time-my", joka sitten tarkoittaa "my bedtime"
Joten nyt mä yritän tehdä sanoja:
"Huonotunnepitkäaikakännykäkäyttö" = bad-feeling-long-time-phone-use = doom-scrolling (sana on pitkä kuin mun kännykkä käyttöaika 😔)
"Kokoyönopiskelu" = whole-night-study = all-nighter
"Viimeinenkouluvuosi-ikävä" = last-school-year-longing(?) = senioritis
"Tissitpoispaita" = boobs-away-shirt = chest binder
"Tissittuholeikkaus" = boobs-destruction-surgery = top surgery
Liian pitkä, ei lukenut: kieli on mun lelu ja mä oon lapsi joka leikkii legoilla

I forgot about this song. I like it so much, but ... what is the meaning semaphore? I googled and it says communication method using flags. So would it be like symbol of red flags? Or does that work only in English. French speakers help!

French speaking Sirius is the only reasonable French learning motivation.
French Sirius Black this, French Sirius Black that. What about a posh pureblood British Sirius Black who has been reluctantly homeschooled into learning French and uses it to speak to an equally posh pureblood British James Potter who has been reluctantly homeschooled into learning it as well, just to scheme their private pranks while the whole Hogwarts thinks they are waxing poetry.

Like I can't ever complain about another language because my mother tongue is so fucked up. When you master the written language you are now faced with all the dialects and slangs and it's not like you only meet those dialects in one place but these people pop up everywhere and casually assume you to be able to understand their kolmekytkolme, kolokykolome, kolkytkolme, kolkytkol, kolkol, kookoo...
How you should count in Finnish: Yksi, kaksi, kolme, neljä, viisi, kuusi, seitsemän, kahdeksan, yhdeksän, kymmenen
But reality is: Yy, kaa, koo, nee, vii, kuu, see, kasi, ysi, kymppi
