the fun thing about the negotiation scene from awe is that jack and beckett are clearly two men who at one point held each other’s hair out of their faces while they were throwing up into some backalley gutter but somewhere between then and now something has gone HORRIBLY wrong between them and we only ever get tiny little glimpses of what it was. it’s just fun.

imagine: you get your memories back after years of amnesia to find out your whole species is dead and earth doesn’t exist anymore. that the only thing left of your culture is your weird ex and his busted honda civic that barely even works that he stole from the government when he was 13. And he’s been taking members of an alien species for trips in his honda civic and they’re all like “woah it’s so cool” and you get upset because it’s NOT COOL it’s a honda civic, the turn signals don’t even work “wow it can go up hills” yeah OF COURSE IT CAN GO UP HILLS EVERY CAR COULD DO THAT. but they’ve never seen a car before so everything it does is the coolest thing ever. And your ex’s only tool is a fucking screwdriver which is somehow also cool to this dumbass alien species even though it’s a fucking screwdriver so you just look like an idiot screaming about how none of this is even cool it’s actually really shitty but your whole planet is gone so you can’t even prove it but also you’ve had a constant drumming sounding in your head since you were 10 slowly driving you insane. The Unofficial Art Of Coraline

Good day! You might already know about this and could have posted about it already and I just missed it but there is an unofficial art of Caroline book on Internet Archives. (link in the title, I hope it works in asks too).

I was looking at James Gurney's blog and he wrote about this a month ago in his post Digital Media and Cultural Memory. He writes this about it:

"All of the films by Laika Animation have "Art of" books available, including Paranorman, Boxtrolls, and Kubo. But their first film, Coraline, doesn't.  Much of the concept art had been shared online, but it wasn't organized, and hard to find. So a group of fans gathered up everything they could find, and created an unofficial digital book in PDF form and put it online. But after the book had been available for a while, they started receiving takedown notices from Laika. They weren't making any money from it, just honoring the artists' work. They wrote to the management of Laika, who found out that the takedown letters were coming from their legal department. Fortunately Laika reversed their position and allowed the book again. For now, you can view the book. (It’s a big file and takes a while to download.)"

I just thought I share it with you in case you didn't know about it (which I think is unlikely but possible). It's really amazing book. Have a nice day!
