Here’s a nifty little gift for you! ♥ A sort of S2 → S4 conversion!

I really love Skoogy’s recolors of MixedUp’s Screenshot BG for TS2. I wanted to recreate the colors for TS4 so I can take better pictures of my Sims, and I like them a lot so I’m sharing them with you!

It actually turned out to be quite a project, since I needed solid colors and Pooklet and Aelia’s swatches are all textured. I worked around this my own way… so they are not exactly the same colors but I think I matched them pretty well!

Anyway, the backgrounds come in 99 colors (Pooklet’s Unnaturals & Aelia’s Jewel, Autumn, Retro tones)

In the .zip you will find the following:

- Separate .package files for each color. Store these anywhere EXCEPT in your mods folder. You can only have one BG replacement in your mods folder at a time. 

- Swatches (made by me) for each set of colors, with matching names for easy color-picking.

- LumiaLover’s Blob Remover mod, to remove the weird shadow/blob under your Sims feet which looks extra funny with custom BGs.

How to easily get rid of unwanted cc using Sims 4 Tray Importer

If you are anything like me then you have over 7 gigs of ts4 cc and there is tons that you will never have any use for. Prioir to last week I was resigned to the fact that there was no way to pick out unwanted cc from the thousands of files in my Mods folder. What changed is that @blewis50 reblogged The Sims 4 Tray importer link. Sims 4 Tray Importer.

CC organizer/deletion instructions:

Create a room somewhere on your lot and as you build and come across unwanted cc place inside the room you created. (This also works for Sims saved to your library).

When you are done with your build session save the room to your Library with an easily recognizable name. You can then delete the room off your lot. Go to manage worlds and place the room on an empty lot. Save the lot to your library.

Open  Sims 4 Tray Importer and select the lot and export with cc. (This does not work with rooms, only with lots.)

Once you unzip the folder, select all the files within the resulting mods folder and move to your mods folder within Sims 4. 

Select replace files in the dialog box and then click on one of the selected files and delete. This will delete all the files you moved, cleaning them out of your mods folder. Or place them in a discarded cc folder in case you ever want it back in the game.

Astral Lights is a lighting modification that adds more stars and auroras, sunlit tides sunrises and sunsets, and overall less blue to the sims 4 lighting. 

Install Instructions:unzip and replace one or more .world file(s) in: C:/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/The Sims 4/Data/Shared/Worlds/Area–installation location may vary depending on the modified world you are adding

Install Instructions for mac: go into applications. Left click and press ‘show package contents’. Then click contents/data/shared/worlds/area. And all the files will be there. Just download the files and drag them in and replace them. (thank you @paigesims)

Uninstall Instructions: Go to Origin, and click the cog wheel next to your sims 4 game and select Repair (this won’t remove your sweetFX/reshade)

If you’re not replacing files in your game/bin directory you’re doing it wrong. Feel free to message me through the chat or mail if you need help installing/uninstalling it.

dreaming in color - a ts4 preset for reshade 3.0

i have another preset for y’all! :o) this one is pretty simple: a warm ‘n’ toasty and very saturated preset to make your screens incredibly colorful. of course, the ambient light is cranked up, to give you that soft and ethereal feeling.

do not use this preset for gameplay! it’s very DOF heavy and using it for anything other than screenshots may cause your game to crash! :o(

TOGGLE KEYS:

ring DOF - caps lock

marty mcfly DOF - shift + 1

matso DOF - shift + 2

ambient light - L

bloom - K

important information:

1. REQUIRES RESHADE 3.0! my presets are made using reshade 3.0.8, but it should work with any version of 3.0, but a lot of the shaders will not work with 3.1! if you don’t have 3.0, you can find it here. 2. a tutorial on how to install reshade 3 and adding presets – i will not be answering any questions on how to install or how to add a preset :o( sorry! 3. my preset will work with post processing turned on, but edge smoothing must be turned off for DOF to work! 4. DOF is controlled by mouse! use it to hover your cursor over the subject you want to focus on

BETTER THINGS - a Reshade preset for TS4

A rather simple yet pretty Reshade preset for TS4 that you may find suitable for both gameplay and taking screenshoots. 

INSTRUCTIONS

Download the latest version of Reshade 3 from the official web-site here.

Follow @gabreux​‘s guide to install Reshade.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin (or wherever your game is installed) and place the preset (better_things_preset.ini file) that you are going to download.

Run the game and make sure you have turned off edge-smoothing and post-processing effects in options. This is important for the preset to work properly.

Once in-game press Shift+F2 and choose my preset.  

INFORMATION & SHORTCUTS

Some effects are on toggle so you’ll be able to turn them on and off.

Depth of Field (MatsoDoF) - F5 (DoF is mouse-driven)

Ambient Light - F6

Bloom and Lense Flare - F7

MXAO (Ambient Occlusion) - F8 (may cause perfomance drop on slower machines)

I love reshade to bits. It makes our games even more beautiful. But, I’m really picky. Like, really really picky. I’ve been messing with the basic reshade file forever now, trying to get things just right. I’ve finally got it! 

Introducing: “Good Gardening” for Reshade.

a bright & cheerful preset. It doesn’t mess with the UI or menus, so the game is still playable, but it adds a nice pop of color and richness to everything. 

Note!  Please turn off “edge smoothing” in game- The preset does the work for you!

Here is my TS4 preset I use all the time ingame! It’s pretty simple with some brightening, vibrance and sharpening! :-)

The file will go into: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

Remember you’ll need to printscreen for the preset to show in your pictures!

When you open the reshade menu ingame my preset will show in the drop down menu under the name ‘Simemi’s reshade’ select it & you’re good to go!

BRIGHT 1.0 - ReShade Preset

I’m not sure if it’ll be ok for you guys, but this is the one I use for gameplay. It makes everything brighter and with more life. I’m using this forever now. For some people it can be too strong for gameplay, tho. I’d really appreciate if you guys tagg’d me on your posts use these so I can see what you come up with :3

KEEN SHADE - A TS4 RESHADE PRESET

I didn’t imagine anyone would want my preset, but someone asked for it so here we are! It’s really nothing special. I didn’t do anything fancy with DOF settings, I still use EA’s. It does feature a bloom setting that can make some windows in game difficult to read. My suggestion is after setting up the preset, bind a key (I use F9) to toggle reshade off and on so you can see a bit easier. How to Install Reshade for TS4 : This is the tutorial that I followed (I’m a visual learner.) Pickypikachu, who is much better at this than I, has directed people to this tutorial as well.

Reshade presets go in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

Here is a comic book preset for Reshade 3. This preset is simple, just a little brightening and a little saturation boost. It’s meant to be used for every day play, and the UI is still reasonable with this preset. There are no DoF settings.
