All American Homecoming Season 3 thoughts so far:
First off this season feels like a completely different show and due to all the budget cuts/cast reductions the writing is suffering. It feels like with the exception of Simone, Jr, and Keisha, everyone else is in and out of episodes, which makes the season feel disjoined. All the cast is rarely ever in the same episode lol. It also feels like nothing is really happening this season other than the cancer storyline and the relationship drama between Cam/Keisha and JR/Gabby. Damon and Amara’s characters basically being gone from the show this season truly caused the writers to not know what to write about. The only reason I’m still watching at this point is to see when Damon comes back and to see if him and Simone will rekindle. I also want to see how Simone’s story gets wrapped up.

I can’t believe Spencer and Olivia are actually MARRIED!! It’s been a long time coming and I loved every second of their wedding. I wasn’t sure where the ceremony would be held but the James’ backyard made the most since. The vows were EVERYTHING and made me melt 🥹. The reception was beautiful and the first dance really surprised me. Idk why I didn’t see it coming, especially since dances are their thing. Spencer and Liv killed it and you could tell they were having so much fun! You could really see how much they are each other’s best friend. I love how the ceremony was small and intimate, and the reception was a big celebration with the Crenshaw community. Jordan’s speech was really sweet as well. It’s bittersweet to know Spelivia’s story is done but I’m content knowing that they got their happing ending.
Side note: I still think it’s odd that we never got any conversation or mention about them and kids at any point throughout their relationship 😭. Hopefully there’s a mention of it from someone in the next season.

There’s something so special about watching a couple that you rooted for from the beginning finally get their happy ending. All the countless number of moments and scenes throughout the seasons building up to an engagement or wedding is always the goal you hope to experience.
Going into this season of AA, all I wanted was for Spelivia to thrive (individually, and as a couple) and to take the next step in their relationship at some point. This week’s episode we finally got all those things. Spencer finally getting drafted and becoming a Super Bowl champion and MVP. Olivia becoming a bestselling children’s book author and starting a tv series. To top it off we finally got a PROPOSAL!!
The engagement was everything. It’s been a long time coming, and I couldn’t be more happy for a couple. Spencer and Olivia have both come so far as individuals and as a couple. It still feels surreal to know that they’re going to be getting married but here we are! 🥹

I find it odd that the writers haven’t had Spencer and Liv have a conversation about their future yet. The set up has been there throughout this whole season with the draft and even with Liv babysitting last episode. Like what are their thoughts on marriage? What are their thoughts on kids? Regardless of if marriage or an engagement is in the near future, I still feel like a conversation would be nice. They’re in a really good place within their relationship so why not have them talk about their future? The draft is next episode and wherever Spencer gets drafted will be a big change for the both of them.

I’m sorry but if Spelivia ends this season just engaged I’m gonna feel some type of way. Especially since it’s looks like we’ll have to sit through yet another wedding that isn’t there’s.
