I realised recently that a lot of the stereotypes that are accurate are accurate because the people who created them are the subject of the stereotype. for example; the stereotypes about europeans like the french or italians are often inaccurate and those stereotypes are very much british or american in origin, the anglosphere made the stereotype and it was wrong. yet american stereotypes; say around eating burgers, are accurate because they are from other americans.

french don't eat snails everyday but i know many texans who would happily live off mcdonalds everyday.

the same is true of the infamous men think about rome stereotype.

its quite an accurate stereotype particularly among the guys who roam these hallowed halls of the internet, meanwhile those same guys stereotypes of women (which were created by men) are totally inaccurate. I get this is quite a "yeah duh" idea but the concept can be applied to many other things, like some certain
