daniel's distaste for the way the sheriff department has been dealing with all this is no secret, he's been vocal about it to anyone willing to listen. at the same time, he's logical enough to be able to accept that everyone in town ─ higher ups included ─ are stuck between a rock and a hard place. there's no easy solution, no real way out of it any time soon... nothing but the reality that whoever is doing this is someone that knows each and every single one of the townspeople. maybe even someone born and raised here, posing as another friendly neighbour...

it has been the only thing in his mind ever since alaina was found. to the point that it became his preferred method of self - torture, thinking that one of the very people that greet him every morning are also the ones that took away the one person that made his life worth living. " it's probably safer here than anywhere else right now... " he replies, monotone voice betrays no emotions despite the fact that his mind is always running fast. " ...the sick fuck doing all of this is probably somewhere around all the turmoil but there's safety in numbers for a reason... " he half shrugs before continuing his task of refilling the styrofoam cups with freshly made hot chocolate. " i sincerely doubt they'll be dumb enough to try anything too... bold with so many eyes everywhere. and if they do, well... i guess we truly are doomed. "

unlike  others  ,  gabi  did  love  her  town  .  she  was  born  and  bred  red  creekian  to  the  core  .  every  aspect  she  hated  ,  there  were  more  that  she  adored  .  she  might  have  been  more  moody  in  nature  ,  drawn  to  the  shadows  of  the  towns  lore  ...  someone  who  you  didn't  want  to  get  on  the  bad  side  of  but  her  passion  was  raw  ,  unbridled  .  seeing  her  own  name  written  there  had  been  secondary  to  the  anger  she  felt  about  tristan's  death  ...  not  that  she  had  known  him  well  but  that  he  had  been  brushed  off  as  almost  not  worth  investigating  despite  so  many  knowing  he  would  never  have  left  like  that  .  this  had  been  exactly  what  she  worried  about  ...  that  one  day  one  somebody  else  could  be  wiped  from  history  ,  scrawled  in  stone  later  as  if  they  never  even  really  mattered  .  she  didn't  give  a  fuck  about  her  name  . yet  ,  even  in  the  wake  of  her  own  rage  ...  she  knew  the  clashing  ,  the  rising  tensions  would  resolve  nothing  .  the  sheriffs  department  should  have  stepped  up  sooner  ,  worked  harder,  cared  more  .  a  fundraiser  was  hardly  going  to  bring  the  community  together  now  when  there  were  so  many  questions  .  "  if  anyone  around  here  had  half  a  brain  then  they'd  shut  this  down  and  focus  on  public  safety  ...  "  as  if  there  was  any  chance  of  that  .  her  blood  boiled  but  she  knew  that  action  would  only  be  repaid  with  temporary  shifts  in  power  ,  nothing  real  ever  changing  .  not  tonight  .

your whole life you've felt different, out of place, like a stranger in your own skin, like an alien in your own world. you don't understand why, no one really does, all you know is that it's hard for you to connect with others, no one else seems to struggle as much as you do but you learn to live with it somehow / you realize after a while that there are ways that you can take advantage of your solitude. maybe connecting with other people isn't easy but there are other things that you are good at; and if you set your mind to it anything you touch becomes a great success, so you take as much as you can and turn coal into diamonds. reinvent the family business and create your own... now, if there was only someone, anyone to share this bliss with / she comes back into your life and you finally understand what others mean when they say they've found their person. because you're 100% sure that she's yours, there's nothing you know with more certainty than that. you want to give her the world, make her dreams come true and do everything within your power to make sure that smile remains on her face for the rest of her life... except, life is oh so cruel and just like she came, she's taken. she taught you how to feel, but what do you do now with all this grief? all this pain? isn't this anger exhausting to hold onto?

the weldons have been part of red creek for generations. there was a time when everyone was worried the family name would die since the generation of that time ( noah weldon and his wife olivia ) weren't succeeding in having a kid no matter how hard they tried... and they tried for years, until dante came into their life. he was adopted and loved by the family for several years, they had believed he would be their only child until suddenly, unexpectedly olivia was blessed with another boy. still, the couple had more than enough love for both of their kids; dante was the only one that showed any interest in the ranch and taking over the family business so when the couple passed away ( first olivia, peacefully in her sleep with noah following after a couple years after ) of old age, they made sure to make him heir of their land and left their other son enough money to live comfortably.

born in 1986, daniel is the only child of dante and monica weldon; considered to be an "easy" child because of how calm he always seemed to be, he rarely ever cried or threw tantrums and was more than happy entertaining himself with his toys or his books. at least until he was old enough to follow after his father and help him with the tasks around the ranch.

he found his passion for animal care very early on and quickly took an active role in taking care of the livestock they had. his story books were replaced with anatomy volumes and more science oriented things. from then on he knew exactly what he wanted to be when he grew up and his parents couldn't be any prouder of their very smart son.

in school it was no surprise that he was excellent, always at the top of his class; getting good grades seemed effortless. constantly excelling at everything he put his mind to, except... anything involving socializing. that seemed to be the one thing he had a very difficult time navigating. at first he didn't mind, he was more than happy in his solitude, surrounding himself with his books, his stories, sucking up all the knowledge he could. but as he got older and having friends and forging connections started to become more important he realized how much he was struggling. it felt as if he was somehow so much different to everyone else, his extremely calm demeanor all the time was off - putting for some people. and he was deemed a "weird" kid for not wearing his heart on his sleeve.

then high school happened and things only got worse. everyone was worrying about relationships and all he cared about was his future and graduating quickly so he could start college. still, despite it all he managed to gain some friendships here and there. he was, admittedly, a very closed off and reserved individual but the few people he allowed to get close are people he's hold onto throughout the years.

the only period of time he was ever out of red creek was during his college years. he wasn't too far though, he went for pre - vet courses in michigan state university and then moved on to get his degree as doctor of veterinary medicine, and continued his higher education with an mba. but still during those 8 years ( give or take i suck at math :3 ) whenever he wasn't studying he was back in red creek, helping out as much as he could.

as soon as he finished college he started working on the ranch full time as the on - site vet, and also doing consult for the pets all over town... his father decided to leave the ranch under his care and enjoy life / travel all over the world with his wife when daniel was 33 and he's been managing it since then !! he's currently trying to expand it a little more / find ways to grow new crops / take care of more animals,to offer more produce varieties for the local businesses<3

𝐍𝐏𝐂 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒.

heather visser ─── out of all the 1999 happenings, she was the only one he was close to in age. still, five years apart most of their encounters were reduced to glances or accidental crossings at the high school halls. daniel had the smallest of crushes on her, she always seemed to be surrounded by her friends and was well - liked, plus the fact that she was older definitely added to that 'mysterious' and 'out of reach' factor that all younger kids seem to fall into. ezra hastings ─── everyone in town had heard of him and daniel was no exception. though his name was mostly uttered as a cautionary tale inside his household. the perfect example of what not to do and what kind of man he should never become. inside the safety of his home, he probably heard his parents say things like 'he must have seen it coming' when he was found dead. daniela estrada ─── was someone he knew but only superficially, they played darts together once or twice, she was definitely a better player than he was... or at least more serious about it. his aim has never been the best and he didn't care enough about the game to actually try to improve. alaina price ─── the literal love of his life. daniel had a crush on her since he could remember, in fact... he can't even remember a time where she wasn't living rent free in his mind. all throughout high school he always wanted to get close but never had the courage to do it. the feelings died down a little ( more like he ignored them ) after graduation and while he focused on his college and master's degree studies. but once he got back, feeling more confident he decided to try and form an actual relationship with her. they started slow, very slow, building a strong friendship for years; but eventually they decided to take the next step. they could be seen around town together, with daniel looking like a man that had it all, smiling so big. they weren't loud about their relationship since they were both very reserved about their lives... but anyone that saw them could immediately tell. all he was waiting for was some stability with the ranch and his businesses... he knew she was the one and was getting ready to propose when, well, we all know what happened.

𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒.

red creek native through and through, only left for college even then never really left ( and doesn't think about leaving ever ) he had a very tight knit group of friends during high school years and i would like to imagine they still are friends even to this day !! i'd love a very ... friends - esque relationship between all of them<3

his brother / sister ? from another mother ... basically a bestie !!! can be very 'basement yard' type relationship if u know what that is !!! or like scott and stiles from teen wolf, very bromance like !!! alternatively, it can also be a phoebe & joey if it's with a fem muse... better yet give me BOTH bc i'm very very greedy :3

he was not the best with relationships during high school years AT ALL... but i would like to imagine he had at least ( 1 ) where ... they were each other's first everythings !!! it was probably a very... puppy love type thing, and daniel was definitely completely inexperienced at absolutely every single thing kdfjndkjfnd so they probably didn't last too long... they could've ended in bad terms ( bc ... he was probably the Worst i'm ngl, all he cared about was getting out of high school and being a grown up ) and they still don't really talk to one another ?? or they could've ended in good terms if they simply realized they weren't the right fit for each other !! the world is our oyster.

i do think he became a bit more free in college !! since he was doing what he liked and had time to focus on it and all that. other people that other studied in michigan ?? a roommate from back then, like ... they were obvs in high school together ( if the muse is also a red creekian ofc ) and were just kinda like 'omg i didn't know u were chill like that' or something dkjndkfjn people that took him out to parties and opened his horizons !!! maybe even some hook ups, one night stands, short lived relationships and what not :3

after college he decided to lock in on alaina and wouldn't have let her go if it wasn't for that damn boogeyman !! so not a lot there ... but maybe someone has had a crush on him and are like ... well i guess this is my chance or something like that kdjnfkgjnfgkn just spitting out ideas at this point ... maybe even a curve ball in the sense that he starts falling for someone else ?? think of the drama !! the guilt !!

regulars buying produce / dairy or eggs directly from the farm !!! he's the only veterinarian in red creek so if ur muse has a pet he's probably seen them and draw connections from there !!! <3 i'm up for anything really !!!
