Mystery Castle goes Gothic!

Rumour had it that there would soon be a Gothic themed party weekend at the Mystery Castle.

Never one to rest on any laurels, sarah spent 3 days transforming the dining suites into her version of what might be termed 'Gothic'

She wanted to inspect things and had a lot on her mind as she strode purposefully down the corridor that led to the dining area.

The first area she walked into was pleasing to her eye.

With the Coat of Arms and stone statues it lent the room that vibe of decadent living ( or partying as the case may be!)

Next was the main dining area. Protocol always demanded a seating plan in keeping with the 'rank' of the guests.

This would be where the Mistress of the Castle would sit with her ViP guests. The bare table would be laden with a veritable feast come the big day.

Sarah had engaged a Chef from Paris just to provide the Buffett, and an Orchestra from Vienna would supply the accompanying music for the period dancing that would take place.

The next alcove was the secondary dining area, although it would be equally well provided for in the way of food and drink

Sarah made notes on what needed adjustment and what might be added.

All that would be needed now was the formal announcement that the event was going to take place.

Life at the Mystery Castle was never dull

A School Trip

@danni-gurrl mentioned that she wanted to see the Astro Corp Academy so I sent back a time cord and Danni was here at the Academy...

I show her that somethings change and stay the same at the same time. A college quad is still a college quad with students going from class to class. Granted now some of those students were not born on Earth or even human. There are a lot of different beings living here, studying a wide range of subjects, every field of science, engineering, art, literature, music, fashion, history. The Academy has a wide of range of fields to study. Some beings specialize, while others study it all. But the most important, the students study and learn about each other and in doing so, learn about themselves. Oh yes... we have flying cars...

Our first stop was to the Cybernetics Lab to get Danni fitted out with some proper implants so that she will have a firm grip on things as well as a strong backbone to get her through the rough patches in her life away from the Castle. The implants can conceal themselves so that no one knows that they are there. There was a time when it would freak people out to see implants but in this day and age it is commonly accepted and whether to show or not to show is a matter of personal preference.

Here, Danni is in front of the Common Ground statue showing off some of her implants. The statue shows the various beings that are signatories to the Common Ground Accords, the foundation and guiding principles of the Galactic Coalition. The core of the accords is the understanding that no matter where we come from there are things that we have in common and that from that common ground, we are stronger and can accomplish greater things together while still retaining our individual distinctiveness.

Here, Danni shows off more of her new implants in front of the Explorers Memorial dedicated to the astronauts who gave their lives in humankind's first tentative steps away from the cradle of Earth and the steps along the way to finding other beings, laying the foundation of the Galactic Coalition.

Nikki shows off (her implants) some of the more mundane aspects of the Academy. Libraries and classrooms never seem to change, just the way in which the information is presented. A thoughtful student snaps a picture of the two of us together.

A couple of things that most schools don't have a dockyard with sea going vessels so students get used to handling a ship in an unforgiving environment and then in orbit, a starport with space ships so students learn how to handle ships in the most unforgiving of environments... space.

Another thing that most schools don't have. A working spatial temporal portal which is shared by the History and Science Departments. This is what Nikki uses to get around to all the interesting places and the interesting beings who are there, beings like Danni.

Knowing how much of an aficionado Danni is of fashion, Nikki takes her to the Academy's Museum of Fashion, showing off the fashion styles from across time and from the different worlds of the Coalition. A photo drone snaps a shot of the two of us.

Nikki shows Danni some of the art from across the Coalition at the Academy Museum of Art.

Danni and Nikki grab a meal in the Student Union as the students unwind and learn the important art of partying together.

Nikki takes Danni on a late night rocket cycle ride. The force screens keeps the wind from messing up the hair. Danni sees the vast glowing cities of future Earth, but also sees an area with just a few flickers of camp fires. Danni asks what that area is and Nikki says that she will show her in the morning.

The next morning Nikki takes Danni along with a group of cadets into the reclamation area. The Earth had seen some rough times since Danni's time, with disasters both natural and created. It had taken time, but Earth and all of it's inhabitants were on the mend. There were scars however. The ruins of once proud cities, now crumbling piles of ruble, yet within that ruble clues as to the lives of who had gone before. There were formal reclamation projects with droids working to clear and study the debris, reclaiming what was once lost. The Academy routinely sent out cadets to help with the project.

Danni worked through the morning with some droids and uncovered an old pub, with a well stocked and preserved cellar. The droids called a break to sample some of their find while Nikki and Danni went back to the Academy for a...

cleansing and refreshing swim in one of the Academy's aqua spheres, a multi-layered variable gravity swimming pool.

After a restful nap, Danni and Nikki attend a formal dinner ahead of a...

Fusion concert put on by the Academy music department. The music was a blend of the various forms of music not only from Earth but of the many different sounds from across the Coalition.

After the concert, Nikki shows Danni the Observatory that showed the starfields from numerous different probes out amongst the galaxy. Nikki turns on a copy of some music that she had made at Mystery Castle and they stood there, watching the stars and listening to the music together.

Danni and Nikki take a leisurely stool across the quad as the night begins to fade into the day.

In Nikki's quarters, the two friends share some drinks.

Danni lets Nikki know how much she appreciated the visit to the Academy.

Later in the morning, Nikki took Danni to the Academy book shop where Danni got an Academy t-shirt and other fashion accessories to take back to the Castle.

Danni and Nikki hug outside the gates of the Academy before Danni has to head back to the Castle. Nikki knows that she will go to the Castle again and hopes more of her friends from there will visit her at the Academy.

The heat wave is here already. Sweating just looking at this lovely robe from @dryndelicate 💜💋😅💦

It must be the approaching heat wave we're getting tomorrow that has me creating winter outfits. These robes would let @danni-gurrl safely retreat into the cold mountains for meditation. She already seems to have attained a calm and composed state.
