“Of course.” He pulled his card out and handed it over to Seamus. “Sorry, I just always end up talking law when I’m away from work.”

“Wait, wait wait..” Daniel stopped the person speaking to him, completely lost on the situation. “I can’t just throw out legal advice in a coffee shop. I’d be more than happy to sit down with you in my office though and we can hash out the details.”

Daniel wasn’t trying to eavesdrop, but he had definitely overheard some bad news. As he ordered his coffee, he decided to order an extra muffin for the woman who was having a bad day. It wasn’t going to replace a job, but he figured a small gesture might help a bit. He brought it over to her and sat down, “Hey, I couldn’t help but overhear that phone call. Tough break.” He slid the muffin across the table to her. “What did you do for work?”

“What?! How is this even possible? How am I being fired?!”

Daniel was in the midst of a very hectic day with court proceedings lined up nearly all afternoon. Coffee was a key point after being up all night with babies and as he waited for his order, he worked on replying to an email. His name was called and he stepped forward, looking up just in time to miss running into Vivian. “Oh, I’m sorry. I was being an asshole and looking at my phone.” Her words resonated with him and he raised an eyebrow. “Where have you been?”

Vivian walked into The Wormhole, taking a look around before breathing in the smell of coffee. She had missed this place. She walked to the counter and ordered a coffee before making her way to a table in the corner. Right then, someone almost walked into her. Vivian stepped out of the way just in time and tried to keep her cool. The old Vivian would have been pissed, but the new Vivian was learning to hold her tongue, even if it was clearly the other person’s fault. “Sorry about that,” Vivian said with a friendly smile, and then let out a small laugh. “It’s been a hot second since I’ve been out in the real world, I must have forgotten to look where I was going.”

“Oh man…I suck at that game so bad, so I have absolutely no idea where to find it. I haven’t been down that way, so maybe you’ll find it’s there,” Diamond said as she pointed in the only section of the festival she hadn’t explored yet. “My personal favorite game at these kind of events is the balloon darts - I’ve already been there twice, and won these two cute plushies!” she said, holding up the colorful six-foot snake and the adorable gray koala she’s been toting around for the last hour. “No idea what I’m going to do with them though.”

“Balloon darts are pretty fun. You must be pretty good at it if you won those from it. I want to win my wife something, cause she’ll love that cheesy shit.”

“Possibly. She seems to know what she wants and her mother is a fashion designer, but I’m sure she would never mind a little extra input.”

Evelyn laughed and shrugged. “So I’m guessing you need some company and a women’s perspective on things for your daughter.”

“Oh thanks.” He laughed. “I don’t have to worry about it though because I know it won’t go that badly.”

Evelyn laughed, shaking her head. “When it’s me being the indecisive one, hell yeah I hate it.” She smiled down at Daniel and took a seat next to him. “It looks to me you either need help or company, not completely sure which one it is though.”

“I don’t need help.” He said with a small laugh, shaking his head. “I’m just waiting for my daughter and if I spend any more time looking through my phone it’s going to die so I’m dying of boredom.”
