That photo of Toby Froud on set with the puppets cracks me up because you got Deet, Rian, and Hup sitting upright and smiling for the camera, but Brea is off to the side looking like "I got no sleep last night and I'm about to pass out."

throwing it out in the universe because I wanna refer back to it when I’m proven right: Deet and Rian are going to end up being Kira’s parents. I think Jen’s parents are sort of background characters that we haven’t been paying as much attention to, but I’m pretty sure they’ll go the plot twist way, something along the lines of them handing baby Kira over to Brea so she can make an escape while Deet and Rian try to hold the skeskis off.

seladon made MANY awful decisions and some of them were far less justified than others. but also. shes a lonely, stubborn, and overworked disaster dyke with unresolved mother issues and deep down has absolutely no idea what she’s doing. and it is constantly reiterated that she is only a child.

like. just the line 

“I loved you with all I had. I’m sorry it wasn’t enough.” 

makes her one of AOR’s most interesting characters, regardless of how likeable she actually is

((looking at her closely, mayrin was a good person but definitely not the best mom. at least not to seladon. she truly believed that heaping responsibilities on seladon and withholding open affection from her would make her a better leader and a better person. but like . ma'am . that is not how you should raise any child.))
