            ‘ you’re blinded. ’  ice crawls slowly up the renegade’s shins, clawing at armour and bone. an amused chitter fills the air, boots crushing ice as she slowly paces around the lightbearer.  ‘ what makes you think you can trust it? ’  she stands too close for comfort, height towering above as she stops just behind his side. kell leans closer, voice low and words slow as ice and cold climb further. ‘ what makes you believe you are special? that it will not leave you as it has for so many others before? ’

           ‘ you seem like a smart man. ’  boots crush into iced shards and solid snow as slow footsteps circle the rogue. voice chitters as she prowls, studying the guardian closely. ‘ -- so why stay? why follow a false machine who will not speak so much as a word -- when answers are less than a fingertip away? ’
