So there's this new anti-vegan argument (at least it's new to me) that's especially obnoxious because the people bringing it up seem to be maliciously ignorant. It's "vegans are hypocrites because animals still die because of them." It's one step further from "if we can't prevent all harm why should we even try?" because it's "if you can prevent all harm you shouldn't even try."

Arguing with these people in good faith is impossible because I'm convinced it's just rage bait. My conspiracy theory is they're paid actors because I can't imagine how anyone could bring up such defeatist mental gymnastics and actually believe that.

If they'd actually believe that I'd wonder why they're still alive. If we can't prevent all the bad things in the world why should we even live?

It was the same thing in Germany. Elon wanted to build a factory "in" Berlin. Of course there was no space there. So they built it in the surrounding area of Brandenburg. The locals protested and there was even a legal issue because they wanted to build the factory in a water preservation area. But the state and province ignored all of that and authorised the building of the factory anyway.

I can't say I can't empathize with them at all since Brandenburg isn't exactly full of industry and job opportunities, but man there had to be a better way than some doofus shitting on water preservation and workers rights.

I get that we all hate Elon Musk and rightfully so. But making stuff up to dunk on the Cybertruck is super unnecessary. That thing is a death trap regardless. The dots have no function other than aesthetics. There's a protective paint on top of the seal and often that looks like shit. So to make it look better they put some sort of gradient there.

Sometimes those dots have a function - hen they're behind the rearview mirror, so the background doesn't blind you.

The edge of the glass is painted where it is glued to the car but it has these small dots between the clear and painted glass.

These are there for a reason. When the sun hits the glass the painted areas and the clear areas will absorb heat at different rates. This causes the glass to expand and contract differently putting stress on the glass.

These dots help the glass to warm up more evenly over a larger area so the glass does not suffer stress that could cause it to spontaneously explode.

Fun fact: the Tesla cybertruck doesn’t have these.

if you have the Honey browser extension installed, uninstall it immediately. big big story broke on youtube today strongly indicating that Honey has been massively defrauding basically everyone who does any business with them at every level, including influencers, customers, and actual retailers.

the short version of ONE of the alleged crimes is that they've been hijacking referral links and codes. if you have honey installed on your browser at all, and you use any referral code from anyone, there is a high probability honey will swap out the referral link identifier for their own even if they don't provide a coupon at checkout.

they also are just lying to you, and hiding coupons that very much exist. they're completely fraudulent

paypal bought honey in 2019 for 4 billion, so paypal has been strip mining the influencer economy for 5 years now. the amount of money that's been essentially stolen is unfathomable
