       He’s used to patrol the skies and encounter other monsters on the go. While his primary habitat is the castle he, Mana, and the rest of the magicians reside in, the wizard takes occasional breaks from mentoring the new apprentices. He goes on a flight around the territory at regular intervals to ensure there are no inconveniences happening without him knowing. Perhaps a habit since he used to be main security when he was one of the six Sacred Guardians who served the Pharaoh.

       However, he would never have expected that this ‘inconvenience’ that he will run into will be his problem to deal with. That shiver-inducing roar cause his eyes to grow wide as he becomes alert. The next thing he knows a huge luminous light is going at super speed in his direction. His fight or flight instincts immediately kick in and his first intuition is to dodge the deadly beam of light before he becomes dust particles. His heart rate becomes irregular and he could almost feel the lightning streaks dashing across the tips of his hair. 

       The magician displays his displeasure with a groan and his eyes cast into a smoldering glare. He lifts his staff and with a couple of fluid spinning motions he aims it at the dragon. He is aware his power isn’t enough to defeat it but he could at least do some damage. Magis builds up in the glowing orb at the end of the staff. The first few seconds it’s perfectly aimed at those sharp jaws but he repositions it so his attack is launched at the dragon’s wing instead.

A hundred and five summers pass.

      It’s just Mahad going to bed and suddenly remembering something. He takes off his slipper, snaps his fingers and a message that says ‘give me back my arcane charts’ appears inside the slipper. He then magically sends it out to have Ebon smacked with it.

Arkana looked at where the bottle of water had been. He pouted, his fun destroyed. But, he still had his boxes of matches hidden around the house, at least Mahad did not know about those.

“Can’t an older brother come and see his younger sibling?”

It totally escaped Mahad’s chaotic mind that maybe Mahad did not mind him coming to visit if he wasn’t a walking incarnation of chaos, destruction, and whatever else came into his tornado of a mind.

Walking over to Mahad, he placed an arm around him. A wide smile on his face. “Mahad, will you let me stay if I don’t tell anyone about you and those onions?”

       “Normally when you do, I have to take precautions in case something catches on fire by your doing.” And he hasn’t got the slightest idea about the matches. The arm around his shoulder has him squint.

       “It is of little worry to me whether you tell about— onions?” He grips the other’s hand with two of his fingers and drops it down while wondering about his choice of negotiation. “What of me and onions? That I would consume them raw, just as I would do with any obstacle?” If he had one right now, he would be snapping it between his fingers, so instead he runs a hand through his hair, maintaining an indifferent expression. For the record, that was supposed to be a threat.

       “Fine, you can stay. We won’t be alone, however. There are new magicians residing in this castle. This is why I ask of you to be careful with your actions. I’ll have a room prepared for you.”

       With just as much as lifting his index finger he magic beams that large water bottle out of there. Then crosses his arms and continues to glare. Not too long after he sighs and raises an eyebrow in a questioning look.

       “I haven’t been informed of your visit. But I suppose, you’re welcome to stay if you promise not to misbehave.”
