DAMN THE HASHTAGS

I really didn't want to bother you with this question but is TF2 comic issue #6 coming out anytime soon? It's been a whole year since the last one :(

Unfortunately I can’t say it’s coming out imminently- I am sad we didn’t hit the year mark (I gotta confess, up to last week I thought the year mark was September 30th, which we’ll be a lot closer to hitting). But releasing sooner would have required not contributing to any other projects for TF or Dota or VR, or sacrificing story/comic length– both things I prefer pushing back release over.  BUT I definitely understand and am frankly, grateful that people are still excited for the next comic!  Happy to say we’re in the home stretch so I’m locked in on issue 6 until it’s done.

The BEST news I can tell you is I think this comic is proper Worth the Weight™ size.  Issue 5 was 36 pages (individual photoshop files) long; Issue 6 is 61 pages currently, and complete will be around 70 pages.

scribbled down a quick sanity check of the two giant women in the TF2 comics to make sure I wasn’t just drawing the same thing twice.  

They’re not spectacularly differently proportioned, not showing off any skills in character/silhouette design here but I thought it might be interesting to tf comic fans.  

I try and keep their finer details unique: Zhanna being made out of pointed/diamond shapes, and Maggie being made of rectangles.  Zhanna is young, solid and fit, in the way someone closely related to Heavy would be. Whereas Maggie, while definitely still capable, is a pulp adventure magazine action girl who’s past her prime, someone who used to be slimmer and filled out with age.

A little comic news: should be out at the end of the month.  This issue has ended up at over 50 pages long, whereas previous issues have been 32-38 pages long.  We also got our spectacular cover artist rennerei as colorist for the entire comic now too.  So hopefully will be worth the weight and all that :))

I started with the post-apocalyptic vibes in mind, where he's some sort of vulture looking for scrap metal. Then he became like a sci-fi paranormal hunter in my head. I like both ideas :)
