So I've come up with a few suggestions for those who are anti-abortion. Forgive me in advance if this seems too direct for you.

I suggest that every person who is anti-abortion goes out into the world and falls pregnant as a result of rape or an abusive relationship.

Or how about you develop a life threatening condition that requires you to decide between your own life or your baby's while you're pregnant.

Or what if you become a 14 year old with your whole life ahead of you but a boy at a party pressures you to have unprotected sex and now it's a choice between your entire future and the unborn child who you don't know the first thing about caring for.

Or you all practice safe sex but happen to be the 2% who have safe sex methods fail them and fall pregnant anyway.

I suggest you become homeless due to the current economy and lack of support and already struggle to feed the mouths of your already born children but then fall pregnant accidentally anyway and have to decide between providing for your current children and bringing another mouth to the table.

And for those who suggest adoption, I suggest that you feel forced to carry a child who was conceived as a result of the worst moment of your life. I suggest you experience the guilt, disconnection and confusion of bonding with a child inside of your womb, yet hating the man who did this to you and knowing that you can't love this child because of the monster who made it and so you choose to give it to someone who will love it. But then you go through the painful miracle of labour, and you see that child and you love it anyway, but you've made promises to a couple who is infertile and the agency tears you apart.

I suggest that you experience the years of guilt and poor mental health that comes from the knowledge that somewhere out there you have a child who you have nothing to do with.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's easy to call someone a murderer, or suggest ideal solutions to a horrible situation when you haven't been in that position yourself.

Life is NOT all sugar and rainbows. Sometimes life faces you with choices that are impossible to make and you have to choose the best option under those circumstances. A lot of us have never been faced with such a decision and you should feel lucky.

A life is a life - this is true. But there are living women who carry these babies - who DID NOT CHOOSE TO BE PREGNANT - who's lives and mental health will be forever impacted as a result of this decision - but this decision is their's to make. NOT YOURS.
