i love the recurrent way the character's faces are always split in two.

usually, chiaroscuro is used to show us their duality, how shadow and light are displayed to focus on either the mask they show the world, or the monster that lurks in their shadows

and here, as well, they play with symmetry: only one half of their faces is scratched, and when they look at eo, it's like they're looking at a reflection in the mirror.
