It's that I'm crazy for you and I know it. And that I'd do whatever to make you smile But above all... The worst part about loving you Is that even after all I take, After all I do, The truth is that you'll never love me.

Work for what you want out of life? I've taken what I wanted. No permission asked. I have everything I want but the thing I want most. I get close but it's always my struggle. I've craved it my entire life. But finally I start to realize maybe it's not for me. My dream of love is just that, a dream.

Hey listen, it’s alright, feeling a little heartbroken now and then is a good thing. It’s how you know you still care. It’s how you know there are things for you in this world that still matter, that are still worth hurting for.

This Generation

This generation doesn't know love, loyalty, nor respect. You see, this generation knows “diss”, betrayal, and dishonor. The generation of “yes ma’am”, “excuse me miss would you like to have my seat?”, “hello sir”, and “thank you!” is so far from the thought process of many youngsters today. All they know is “nah”, “I had to stand all day too”, the head nod, and silence in replace of thanks. 

There was once a time when people cared for each other. A time when a stranger in need became a new friend. Everything didn't revolve around money or a favor, things were done out of the kindness of ones heart. Now I wonder if people even know how to truly care.

I look back at my childhood to see what real love looked like, only to fast forward to the realization that I may never have life’s greatest gift. I may never share a long life with a faithful partner, to wake up only to fall deeper in love with him each day. Now, “love” is just a four letter word thats thrown around with no sense of meaning or weight. 

Loyalty. Ha! I’ll be surprised if someone could tell me what loyalty really means, let alone truly show it. Folk are only loyal when its convenient, not to have your back through and through, which is why you can't trust these people any further than you can throw them.

Here’s what this generation doesn't realize, you are your family’s namesake, your actions could have an affect on them all. But when its all about you and nobody else, it doesn't matter. 

This generation will be the downfall for many years to come. For they will raise children who will then adapt their actions. For the gift of true love may not grace this earth again soon. For real loyalty may only be a word spoken of in fairy tales. And for respect may exists again, never.

We all have angels, we all have demons. What matters the most is the one you choose to feed. The moment you make the choice to give one more fuel than the other is when you choose the path you wish to take in life. 😈 Choose wisely 👿

Who I Am

Who I am goes deeper than my skin tone I am the struggle of my ancestors & the pride of my future kids. I am the success of my parents & the honor of my dead kin. My skin does not make me For I am not the statistical person you thought I was. I am not the violent, angry female you assume me to be. This skin I'm in is not me It is merely the flesh that makes me similar to you It is what makes you comfortable around me So when you look at me See beyond my skin, look into my soul For then you will know who I truly am.

At first glance, she’d appear quiet and reserved like a solitary bird, and as fragile as a wing bone. But if you took a moment, if you looked deeper, you would see she was so much buried light — only waiting for somebody unafraid to get their hands dirty, to come along and unearth her.
