Mastery Journal Advance Entertainment Law post
This month I took up advance entertainment law. My first thoughts of the class was I was going to learn all documents needed to cover my company going forward. My expectations was just to learn some of the legal documentations needed to produce my films without any legal violations that could cost my company legal problems, lawsuits to be exact. The first week I had to write a Legal Liability paper where I had to find three liabilities that my company will possibly face starting up. Week two I had to continue from week one legal liability paper I had to focus more in depth on one of the three liabilities I chose then research a court case about the liability and write about the case and what was the end result of the case and how I can apply that to my company. Week three I had to add something I thought was important to my leadership portfolio. I chose to put my education credentials to my portfolio because I felt when promoting your brand listing your education shows your level of knowledge for your particular business symbolizing you have gone the extra mile to perfect my craft and elevate my business. Week 4 the final week of the class our assignment was to do a research paper citing a court case that would influence the entertainment industry and my business in the future. I also had to do another journal entry summing up the whole course my overall expectation was surpassed greatly. Not only did I learn the legal documents I would need but I also learned from the research of other court case how to prevent potential problems not only trademark and copyright issues but also talent release issues and producer and director disputes of rights of the film. Overall this was a great class a lot of informative information the instructor was very engaging easy to reach and made the assignments easy to understand.

Mastery Journal Product and Artist Management post
This month my course was Product and Artist Management when I first saw the course my first thought was, I was going to learn how to manage artist my first thought was only music artist. Until I actually started the class and learned that it is more to managing than just finding shows for them. In week one I had to write a reflection essay with a 400-word minimum with a brief description of show business and how the manager needs to be fully up to the time to be successful. Then I also had to do a manger case study and rating chart and explain why you rated them the way you did. Week one went well. Week two I had to research two talent management agencies history, identify their milestone in growth, how long they been in the business and the artist they prefer to represent . Also, who are the major talents are they represent. The final task I had to do in week two was after my research of the two talent management agencies would I choose to work for. Week three I had to choose from either an artist or project. The categories were teenage popstar, Diva, Heritage Rock Band or Musical Act, A comedian on tour, Film or Web series, Boy band, An emerging Musical Artist, Reality Tv show, Multi headline tour, New Music festival and then once you pick one make up two products that will help promote the act you chose. I decided to choose a up and coming comedian on tour called 2Funny and the name of the tour Is called The Wine and Boots Tour. I really enjoyed this project from doing the analytics on my targeted audience to developing the two products that would help promote the tour has definitely sharpen my marketing skills. Week four I had to write a reflection essay after watching the video and best practice questionnaire and another mastery journal post overall it was a great experience one step closer to the goal.

Mastery Journal Post 5
This month I took up Entertainment Business Finance. I must admit it is not what I expected before starting I thought I would just get a brief rough run through of Business Finance. To my surprise it was very I depth I got off to a rough start the 1stweek with misunderstanding the assignment I had toselect one entertainment company that is publicly traded. Do a Financial statement analysis and  for each of the four categories( Liquidity, Efficiency, Leverage, Profitability), you will select two ratios of your choice (eight ratios total). Instead of choosing two ratios I only did one which resulted in a low grade Which bothered me so bad it through me off and affected the way I did the next assignment I was so focus on not getting a bad grade I kept second guessing myself where it led to a even lower grade in my Time Value Of Money tables and calculations and Capital Budgeting methods. Where I learned how to breakdown percentages, and how to establish how to budget a company through identifying and using the right methods. Week three I learned how to invest my money as well as calculate what it will take to break even to protect myself from investing my money in the wrong things leading to financially loses I did pretty good in this assignment I was a lot more calmer and got an A in this assignment. For the final week I had to do a Pro Forma Financial Statement for the first full year of my new business where I give the numbers of my projections on how I expect the business to go. Still waiting on the grades for the assignment I think I did good on it. Overall, I love the class I got a better understanding on the stock market, what the numbers mean and how to invest in it I will continue using these skills from this point on. From breaking down percentages, to doing a Pro Forma financial statement I have obtained knowledge that will definitely elevate my business.

Mastery Journal Post
This class has been very interesting. I have actually learned a lot. The most important thing I learned is the importance of branding its self. To success I need to have a strong brand that people remember and identify with.  I know now that my film company needs to show how it is different than other film companies through my branding. I can’t wait till a person hires me to show them how I’m different. They need to see way I stand out so they will hire me. Branding will help show them why I am the one for the job. Branding is everything from your business cards to your website. I also learned that your slogan, your trademark, need to be meaningful. That everything thing you chose should be thoughtful and show who you are. When you are choosing a brand trademark or website everything matters from the colors to the font. And I think most importantly it should be a simple logo. Some of the most well-known brands their logos are simple and easily. Look at Nike their logo is a check mark. That’s it. Their slogan is “Just Do It”. Nike branded themselves with a basic logo that everyone can remember. And a slogan that tells you to just do it, follow your dreams and just go with it. They show athletes that everyone looks up to and says hey, you can be just like them. Another one is Disney; they have branded themselves wonderfully. Their logo is a castle. They are known for princesses and fairytales. They were able to take animation and turn it into movies, clothing, toys, theme parks, cruises. You made it the brand is on it. I have learned that if I want to make my company a brand that every household knows I have to make my brand standout. I have to show people my brand is everything they need or want.
