“My body isn’t ready for this, Lawrence . ” Unfortunately, Carmilla can already feel (it’s all in her head) hips stretching out and gearing up for a gigantic, Danny Lawrence style baby. “My body is ready for a small little Laura. I don’t know how I’m going to physically handle… That.” Her mouth stops, clamping shut as she sighs. Mind wanders, thinking of a child. Their child. Red hair, strong Lawrence jaw. Maybe her eyes but preferably Danny’s blues. “But I suppose there are worse things.”

Danny is already kissing down Carm’s neck, slowing when her hands settle on Carmilla’s hips. She rubs carefully, massaging her hips, her thighs. It’s been a frequent practice, massages before bed, massages until her wife (or wives, if Laura requested too) relaxed or just plain drifted off to sleep.

“Well...whether they’re a giant like me or on the smaller side like you... I’ll be right here. For anything you need.”

“Sure doesn’t feel like it.” Especially times like these. Her face simply pales at the mention of what their child might look at. Carmilla had just assumed… Tall and broody. But red hair? GINGER?! Setting her child up for constant soulless joke teasing. “I’m going to give birth to a rosy cheeked, red headed elephant.” That height. The monstrosity. She, too, has been in contact with Danica’s mother. It’s hopeless. “A little Danny mini-me.”

The panic on Carmilla’s face is obvious to Danny, but... a healthy, red-headed mini-me, but hopefully with Carmilla’s eyes. The thought makes her whine softly.

“....Sorry. I was a pretty big baby.” She doesn’t know how to atone for this, other than nuzzling Carmilla more. This is what they’ve wanted for a long time, but the next 30- something weeks are new territory. “Maybe you’ll get lucky and they’ll take after you?”

“You are.” Yet tears sting her eyes. God damnit. Baby hormones seemingly have Carmilla cry at the slightest things. This morning it was Laura making smiley pancakes. The frilly hell is this baby doing to her? “God, I can’t stop crying and if this persists, this baby and I are going to have a long talk about who’s in charge here.”

“You’re still in charge.” She’s quick to fetch her wife a tissue from the nightstand and kiss her on the cheek. Danny hasn’t batted an eye at the frequent crying, unless it was something truly ridiculous. Then it was treated with loving coos and teasing.

“It’s okay.....I cried at my mom, last phone call I had to make, all because she mentioned that the baby might have red hair.”

“They’d get made fun of but I kind of would love that.”

It’s damn near impossible to stay mad at the redhead. Baby blues and baby hormones have turned Carmilla into absolute mush. With another sigh a hand reaches to cup at cheek before taking the alpha’s chin in her hand. “They do. Trust me. They do. But what they won’t know is you with all the time you’re spending at work instead of home. Here. Me and Laur. We have a pretty sweet thing over here.”

All the work stress and worry washes away once she feels Carmilla’s hand on her face. She leans into it, nuzzling even as she wraps an arm around her. Peers up at her.

“I know I’m a big sap, but you’re so beautiful.”

Danny has to catch her mid-bite to question her. Eyes rolling, a sigh passes through Carmilla’s lips once she’s swallowed a rather large burrito. Head leaning back against the headboard a hand reaches out to her stomach. “Morning sickness to the tenth degree but it could be worse. Gianna was bedridden after she found out. All I’m getting is serious hungry and horny with slight nausea whenever my head moves fast.” A pause. “You don’t have to work late. There’s a god damn gold bank in the basement.”

Danny’s quick to undress, pulling on a tank shirt and boxer shorts before settling down in her normal spot between her wives. She props herself up on her elbow and glances down at Carmilla’s stomach.

“I want them to know that their ma works hard, y’know?” A blush as she rests her chin on the dark haired woman’s shoulder.

There are about seven degrees of pissed that Carmilla’s gone through the night. And it’s only looped while she waits for one wife to come home. Laura, has been home, making dinner (way too much sugar in her father’s pasta sauce). They waited. Patiently for their third to come home. Laura had drifted to sleep early, leaving Carmilla dead awake. And no, time didn’t dare go by faster. Brow arched, she stares down the red head as her arms gently fold over her chest. “Laura made dinner,” But it’s too late the smell of the bag has already hit her nostrils. “—Give me that.”

Danny can feel the irritation coming off of Carmilla, the impatience. A whine slips out as she places the flowers down and hands over the fast food bag.

“Sorry I’m late. I...I’m not going to do any more late hours.”

But she looks at sleeping Laura, at Carmilla, at Carmilla’s stomach, and even as one wife snores and the other sets off to stuff her face, she feels so much love. Her wives, her growing family.

“How have you been feeling?”

It’s an odd thing, knowing there’s a baby on the way. As Danny is learning, sometimes it causes you to do dumb things...

Like stay late at work multiple times this past week to pick up extra hours of detention supervising.

She knocks on the door frame that leads to the bedroom. In one hand she has a bouquet of wildflowers, and in the other, a fast food bag containing her wife’s recent craving fix.

Ep 30: This is about Carm and Mattie and the consequences of actions, regardless of the intentions. This is definitely not about Danny. Is Danny physically harmed and probably alarmed by the threats? Absolutely. But that doesn't compare to what Carm is going through.
