⚾️On July 14, 1969 at Wrigley Field, the Chicago Cubs edge the New York Mets 1-0. After the last out is made, Cubbies great Ron Santo jumps up and clicks his heels for the first time. The next day, Santo walked into manager Leo Durocher's office; Durocher asked him to keep clicking his heels whenever the Cubs won at Wrigley Field to motivate the team. Santo continued this after every home win for the rest of his career with the Cubs. On the day Santo was enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012, the Cubs' starting lineup all did the heel click at the start of the game in tribute to the late Cubs great.⚾️

Burger Queen started as a drive-in hamburger restaurant in 1965 meant to rival early McDonald’s and Burger King locations.
The “Queen” was meant to differentiate it from the male-themed “Burger King,” giving it a unique identity.
The brand’s slogan was “Have it your wa at the Queen!,” a nod to Burger King’s famous catchphrse.
In 1981, the chain rebranded as Druther’s Restaurant, and then by 1990, the Druther’s chain sold most of its restaurants to Dairy Queen.
Many former Burger Queen/Druther’s locations were converted into Dairy Queen Brazier restaurants.

Wrigley Field, Chicago, IL, July 14, 1932 - A group of young boys sit perched in a tree trying to catch a glimpse of Cubs pitcher Guy Bush shutting down the Brooklyn Dodgers in a 4-1 win.
So much to love in this photo I wouldn't know where to begin, maybe with those magnificent automobiles?
And in case anyone was wondering, the attendance for the game was 10,000, probably an estimation. So tickets were to be had, but why pay when you have found a way to see the game for free!

The garrote is an execution device that is documented to have been used in the first century BC Rome. This torture method found its way into modern history.
The condemned would sit with a metal clap wrapped around his neck before the executioner turned the screw that would theoretically burst his brainstem, killing him instantly.
