experimented with covering some areas with masking tape as I do struggle and sometimes cover the page completely… but it does work also well to keep some areas blank
cognitive flexibility = ability to focus on multiple tasks while painting, letting my eye looking around and noticing different things (middle angles, space, curves, area, distance, space)

today we were painting two models at the same time.. really challenging but fun
using different brushstrokes, marks, viscosity of paint and different brushes
really proving the fact I need to keep looking always somewhere else
first exercise was to paint space from one side and area from other
need to figure out how to use paint… as it gets still muddy and there is no contrast

23rd of January 2024
Today instead of drawing with charcoal as usual, we we’re painting using two opposite colours, each one in separate containers, mixing colours on separated pallet.
I have been painting after a long time, also this is a first time paint at life drawing for me. I do struggle with tones and mixing colours, so these are things I need to improve, as often my colours turns muddy.
However I experimented with different brushstrokes and amounts of paint. I enjoy putting lot of water so the paint is dripping down, but need to find a way to control it.
What could work next time is be more creative with background as it could make it beneficial for my life painting. But the biggest improvement has to be with applying tones as it is crucial.
Notes:
Pushing ideas and approaches of what paint does
Try to explore the media you are using wet or dry (or combined)
Putting difference energy into brushstrokes (long or short, thick or thin, fast or slow)
*be open to experiment rather than limitní yourself to create “pretty” picture*
!!! ALWAY MIX DARKER COLOUR INTO LIGHT ONE !!!
Paint areas and not lines
nature of material = what material can do/ where are the limits
nature of picture = how do we perceive the reality and draw/paint it (it is framed)
picture of nature = reference/what are we drawing ( nature of composition is how eye is moving around objects/ edges)
Composition can be made with sharp and broken edges
Space is form (meaning the empty white parts can be used to highlight certain aspects
DO THINGS DIFFERENT, ART IS TRUTH REARRANGED
BE MORE CONCHES WHEN PAINTING, I TEMP TO BE QUICK AND FORGET TO THINK, IGNORE THE TIME, DRAW ON YOUR OWN PHASE, IT IS A STUDY
EVERY PICTURE IS ITS TRUE AND OWN WORLD
INSPIRATION COMES FROM LITTLE SILENT VOICE INSIDE US AND WE ARE DOUBTING IT AS BRAIN IS SCARE THAT THING WOULD GO WRONG
