New Wave Motion 2020
The Brunette, selected during the second edition of New Wave Motion Film Festival in Hong Kong, China.
About
The New Wave Motion Film Festival was established in 2015, as a non-profit art group. New Wave refers to the “New Wave” in 1959, the French “film notes” film critic Dulu Fu monk Lu shot up to their debut, since then, France A group of young directors appeared, shooting different works from their parents, and described the movement as “New Wave." As for Motion, in addition to the result of film, there is also the meaning of "action”. If there is no action, how can there be a wave? From the perspective of world cinema, we will reflect on the development of Hong Kong films today, so as to disseminate new information and new perspectives of the film, so that the general public can more independently produce and enjoy movies.
Tumblr media
An N-shaped old camera, N stands for the English name New Wave Motion, which means that we can achieve a new wave through action (ie shooting). The triangle on the left, in addition to the camera lens, is also a nib (in addition to the triangle, there are two nibs), which means that the “pen theory” states that “the film author writes on a camera, as the writer writes with his pen”, and here Under the pen, the movie can be as simple and meaningful as the logo on the right. As for the two circles, which symbolize the imprint of the film and some old movies, it is also a pair of eyes. We broaden our horizons through movies.
Tumblr media
The Venue
The first “Notes Film Festival New Wave Film Festival” will be held in September at the Pan Asia Centre in order to encourage more independent, experimental, alternative and student works, so that there are more screening opportunities for such works. As there is more understanding of the diversity of films, our selection criteria are independent and innovative. The purpose of the “Creation Communication Group” is to promote exchanges and cooperation in the creation of films. This edition also highlights the contribution of women’s influence of dance, these powerful and resilient creators who make up most of the programming. In order to remain faithful to its identity and maintain the festive character of this unifying event, this new digital and exclusive content will be broadcast daily between September 11 and 20, 2020 and available for free on the FQD website.

Ernte Sehen Film Festival
RACHEL will get her Austrian premiere during the third edition of the Ernte Sehen Film Festival in Steirmark, Austria.
About
The ERNTE SEHEN film festival, as a re-interpretation, should show that times of crisis can also be food for thought, inspiring new ideas. The rules must first be seen in order to be broken. On August 8th, 2020, artists and filmmakers will meet up in the heart of the Murtal Valley in Austria where the ERNTE SEHEN short film festival will take place. The films will be shown on the already existing outdoor stage and will be streamed on the festival website. This allows us to open the festival for a number of guests on site, as well as for a wider audience online. The short film festival will consist of two parts. The first part will be curated internally by the ERNTE team. We will create a guiding theme under which an approximately three-hour programme will take place.
Tumblr media
ERNTE is an organisation founded in 2018 with the goal of promoting urban music culture. In the same year the ERNTE music festival came into being, for which the cultural association GRIESSNER STADL in Stadl an der Mur provided its extensive area of land on which the festival grounds could grow and the ERNTE festival to return in 2019. The current situation has forced us to rethink the festival structure and has given rise to a new idea. We have decided to set the focus of the ERNTE 2020 on a different medium.
Live Stream
The full program of short films can be viewed online.

Stadl an der Mur
Stadl an der Mur is a former municipality in the district of Murau in the Austrian state of Styria. Since the 2015 Styria municipal structural reform, it is part of the municipality Stadl-Predlitz. As part of “ERNTE SEHEN”, the ERNTE will take place as a film festival for the first time. We are looking for films that don’t exceed a maximum length of 10 minutes, but there are no thematic restrictions.

Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid
The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision is the institute for media culture; an inspiring, creative and accessible meeting place for both private individuals and professionals. We interpret current developments concerning people, media and society from a media-historical perspective. We do this by using our collection, as a media museum, as a knowledge institute and as an educational partner. We show people how media have evolved in (recent) history, follow current developments and respond to new media phenomena. In this way, we make a relevant contribution to an open media culture as part of a free society.
Tumblr media
Since the end of 2006, Sound and Vision has been located in a spectacular building at the Media Park in Hilversum. The building itself, with its unique glass facade, impressive canyon and striking atrium is already worth a visit. The architecture reflects the mission and the organization of Sound and Vision. Sound and Vision arose in 1997 from a merger of three audiovisual archives and a museum, with the task of ‘managing and preserving the Dutch audiovisual heritage and making it accessible to a wide audience’. In order to fulfill this mission, it was necessary to move from nine locations in six municipalities to one central location.
Tumblr media
Vision
Media is an integral part of the world we live in. In 2025, Sound and Vision will be the guardian and leading institute for archiving and interpreting journalism and media. Creating and championing the democratic values of freedom of thought and expression through text, image and sound are key to this. To this end, Sound and Vision will actively promote the use of its extensive collection and open it up as much as possible, for everyone – from professionals to people with a more casual interest. To inspire them and help them excel. In this way, Sound and Vision will help to build a more media literate world. To achieve this, Sound and Vision will seek collaboration with all the relevant stakeholders and take the lead where necessary. Through its building, its collection and its museum, it will do everything in its power to create free thinking in media. Sound and Vision sees the broadcasters, scientists, government, politicians, educators, heritage organisations, public libraries, business community and creative industry as key partners in making this a success.

New Wave Motion 2019
The Boudoir, selected during the first edition of New Wave Motion Film Festival in Hong Kong, China.
About
The New Wave Motion Film Festival was established in 2015, as a non-profit art group. New Wave refers to the "New Wave" in 1959, the French "film notes" film critic Dulu Fu monk Lu shot up to their debut, since then, France A group of young directors appeared, shooting different works from their parents, and described the movement as "New Wave." As for Motion, in addition to the result of film, there is also the meaning of "action".
The triangle on the left, in addition to the camera lens, is also a nib (in addition to the triangle, there are two nibs), which means that the "pen theory" states that "the film author writes on a camera, as the writer writes with his pen", and here Under the pen, the movie can be as simple and meaningful as the logo on the right. As for the two circles, which symbolize the imprint of the film and some old movies, it is also a pair of eyes. We broaden our horizons through movies.

Art Film Fest
The Artfilm Film Festival was first held in 1993, the year the Slovak Republic was established. It is the longest continuously running international film festival in Slovakia. The Artfilm tradition began upon the initiative of film director Peter Hledík, the festival’s long-time artistic director. According to Hledík, the festival’s founding was a product of its time. It was, after all, in the early 1990s that Koliba Film Studios vanished, funding for Slovak cinema rapidly dried up and films in Slovakia simply stopped being made.
Tumblr media
Artfilm was thus intended as a substitute for a living, breathing film industry. The first edition commenced on 14 June 1993 in the town of Trenčianske Teplice, under the auspices of UNESCO. It was an intimate affair focused on documentaries, screened in just one cinema for two hundred viewers. What started as an intimate gathering of filmmakers and fans has over the years become one of the most prominent cultural events in Slovakia. Thanks to the festival’s expansion into Trenčín, Artfilm also drew new audiences. While 1993’s Artfilm was attended by a modest 300 viewers, by 2009 attendance levels had reached already 25 000 film fans. In 2016, 23 years into its history,  the festival relocated to Košice, Slovakia’s second largest city.
