This is my other #GoSun Solar Oven. I won't get into the pros/cons of this one vs. the Fusion right now, esp since I'd do things a bit differently if I was on the design or beta test team, but what I use this one for is for making/keeping beverages ☕️ 🍵 🔥 HOT 🔥 and it works like a CHAMP!!! I just took this pick (it's almost 9pm, so the oven's been folded up & in my home for over 2 hours, and dang, that tube has kept my coffee hot this whole time. It's not still scalding, but it's hot enough to still be drinking hot vs. warm coffee. I'll just add that instead of the tiny model they make, with a zipper case, they should have taken THIS design & decreased the width down to accommodate the kettle. These products are incredible, though & I think my energy needs to be reserved to give them some constructive criticism on their camper, but I do have 2 solid suggestions for them for future oven designs. Still, no regrets whatsoever. Not that I can handle a hurricane disaster right now, and I seriously can't, but next time around, I'll be so much better equipped! The GoSun kitchen with dual panel table is SO NICE, plus I have Bunnie the Wondervan storing solar every day, but I've got a very good idea of the direction I want to go next & just hope everything will be in place before I ever have to endure another event like what Irma created in my area. Man, that was rough! I still haven't fully recovered from that. Saving a TON of money using old motorcycle gear to protect myself while trying to cut wood! Already have helmet with face shield & Kevlar gloves, I never did buy nor ride wearing chaps. Woohoo! Mission Learn to use Chainsaw is Underway! The bar & chain oil arrived today; I watched a safety video; & I got help from a friend figuring out why it wouldn't do anything (had to do with the safety, not the chain...the very weird manual). The arrow points @ my 1st piece of log. It all worked out well, as learning safety is crucial & I really needed to do that (they need to teach basic stuff like this in school, I bet they did at some of the better schools I attended growing up eg in CO!). The saw is laying on the rest I was able to cut today. Not much, I know, but this is just way too dangerous to mess around & pretend as if I don't have physical limitations. I was already really wiped out after just getting 2 or 3 PIECES from a log. I had to sit down after the 2nd piece & saw while sitting. Idk if that's safer or not in the world of lumberjack, but in #mecfs world all norms disappear & everything becomes baby steps & adaptations. This is crazy dangerous for someone as sick as I am (for anyone healthy too for that matter), so I'm still going to try to find more videos, but using one of these while knowing how badly things can go, it sure makes you hope that people who do this for a living get the breaks they need, are very alert & self-disciplined, etc. I thought this would help make cutting other small branches a breeze, but no...I'd rather use another type electric saw, which is far less likely to get away from me. It's gonna be a lifesaver though. Having a fire in the wood stove is super taxing on me & some good big pieces will dramatically help with that. It all makes me mourn over the loss of my health. I love doing all this stuff other people think of as a chore & it sucks that some much I could do is gone. I wish I could have learned all sorts of stuff like this, especially carpentry, back when I was somewhat healthy. Even though this isn't much, it still brings a lot of joy. Just in time. I had 3 huge slices of vegan #satchelspizza (definitely one slice too many!) & just half of that beer kicked my behind, but I went ahead and forced down my dessert for my birthday eve celebration. I had to get into bed after, though. I don't do well with unhealthy at all & I'm planning on even more self-abuse to kick off the big 6-0! Dang, how do people eat like this all the time? Shout out to #karmacream for their awesome #vegan #organic desserts packaged in #nontoxic & #biodegradable boxes. #satchelspizza is one heck of a business too, but both they & #reggaeshackcafe have gotta stop poisoning their customers with their styrene containers. I'm just not going to go there more than once a year while they do this no matter how great their food is & what good businesses they are. l'll do a comparative post of KC vs. RS later, but KC will get my biz almost every time, since the others don't offer organic & use toxic & environmentally reckless takeout containers. I'd bmo box if these were normal times & I was able to go out, but the goodies were an early b'day gift from a friend. Life as a canary is TOUGH, but what serves as a curse to some, a few seize the warning with the hope of not falling victim to the way those without a hyperactive immune system ultimately find out: (C). Awesome dinner, but only on a rare occasion, & I can assure you, this pizza is the bomb! I really do love & want to support the businesses who treat their employees well! Man, it was DELICIOUS, but to die for? Nope. Just like anything non-organic, it's loaded with pesticides, herbicides, & other petrochemicals, & I'm gonna pay a very big price for this (it's gonna be a rough night tonight). At least thanks to being vegan, I'm still avoiding a ton of drugs & hormones in the food supply. All that said, I'm gonna have to find a decent vegan, organic beer for the few times I drink it because it pairs so well with certain dishes. Geez, only half a beer & I'm a goner! Perfect Ending to a solid, plugged-in day. The cards were right on target & so much so, I couldn't have done better if I had picked them myself. Adaptation, innovation, enthusiasm, & perseverance on this difficult & unusual, & spiritually rewarding path with a boatload of help from the sweetest little spirits here & others who have crossed. Btw, in case anyone caught them & was wondering if my camera lens was in need of cleaning earlier today (story photos), the answer is: that's what I thought, too. I cleaned the lens, & it is what it is. I'm just now becoming able to see certain things during the day. It's another damn that's broken with the crossing of someone I was close to, & this started when Frank passed. Prior to that, I could only see "these" in the dark. They sure are interesting, & they sure aren't allowed in my bedroom anymore (freaked me the fk out!), so I guess this is just the official new location (outside between myself & the sun, the same as where Frank was). I have a Ouija board that I had bought for my Mom (when she was still in this realm), & I've used it, but it freaks me out too much, & I prefer sticking with Tarot for help with interpretation. It's worked good for me & has been a sort of outta the box way I use them to work with the way I plug into & experience things vs. as less connected "talk at you" way they are traditionally used. Best psychic suggestion ever & I have Flash Silvermoon to thank for that (as well as some mind-blowing readings!). Wow, that's a name I haven't thought about for a very long time. Hmmm... So 12 years ago, after massive tragedy & & loss, I was trying to figure out "what now?" I wish I had written the exact date down of that fateful Friday night when I was plugged in & "someone" responded with "Opossums!" & the next fateful date, that Sunday, when the 1st, of what would become many, arrived. All I know was that it was sometime before November 2010 when I was rephrasing my question to get a macro vs. micro response. It took years for me to learn: "Lady, you GOT your macro response!" & it's been raining possums ever since (except for that brief sabatical the universe was kind enough to give me). Well, it's really hard, heartbreaking work if you're in it for altruistic reasons, but who knows...would I even still be here if it wasn't for them? I had a HELL of a #mecfs (canary reaction to chronic poisoning) night last night. It's like being in a war during sleep as the body fights with all it's got to protect you, & you wake up EXHAUSTED! Still, I was blessed to wake up & have the strength to get out of bed while the sun was still out, & so began project Vitamin D recharge, which both Peach & I desperately need, & what a b*tch of a time it was still being so close to winter solstice, how long it took me to get up, get everyone fed, etc. Things went a whole lot better for Peach than myself. You can see the sun issues we were dealing with, but while it's still very difficult for me, it's a lot easier to move her around chasing the rays of the sun than a heavy cast iron chair, so mission accomplished for project possum care (nice brunch out in the fresh air with doses of filtered sun & winning the battle to play with the human's shoe, as the human can't afford any more foot mishaps after suffering one loss in a crushed by Harley crank case incident, so enthusiastic possom chomps are out of the question, especially on the remaining good foot). It did end up being a really great self-care day, though. It's now 4pm, & I'll get a very small (yet good quality) blast of sunshine with the sun now in the perfect spot, & the odds of this, without my apparent reason for still having a pulse, would be somewhere between slim & none. Alrighty! My 1st attempt at Organic Vegan Spinach Artichoke Leek Quiche!😋 A little worried, as it looks a bit runny. I'm skeptical that 30 minutes is long enough to bake, considering vegan pumpkin pie takes an hour and that's with the added assistance of sugar, which is absent from my veggie quiche, but still livin' & learnin' and the bright side is if it's a little runny, the other servings should firm up a bit when reheated. I was feeling creative & don't follow recipes to the letter, so it'll be interesting to see how on or off my senses were tonight. Gonna try to wake up Peach & take care of her 1st to give this a little time to set, then it's time to dig in! Really grateful I had the strength to do this today. I even had a little bit of bonafide fuel (vs. the usual fumes) left to sing (in short bursts with a whole lotta rest between). It's killing me how MECFS is taking so much of music from me. This fking disease! Well, the anger about it all helps & gave me a little of the power & grit I long for. I'm not hoping for a full tank like most have, but a quarter or even eighth would be nice & would change my world dramatically. Never, ever giving up hope. I've got way too many songs to record & so many other things I wanna & really need to do. Still doing some serious #KickingAndDreaming of my own & I don't need anything from anyone, just a steady, decent dose of Qi. It's a freaking miracle I'm still here with the fumes I've had to try to survive on, but as long as I am, I'm gonna keep hoping & fighting & control what I can. In the meantime, not a moment is ever wasted. Lotsa furkids (and all kinds visiting critters) whose lives I CAN make a difference for. It's a rock solid reason to exist. So it's time to feed the Peach & now she's finally starting to stir on her own! I think she needs the sun as badly as I do & we both got a little dose today, making it a really great day for us both. Happiness is extending & improving their quality of life.🥰 I wish others would help me help her. They could do it FOR FREE, & be serving other important environmental services in the process, yet they don't. 😢 It amazes me how so many do NOTHING & how the few do so much. I think Bernie might be the only popular politician who genuinely grasps this & why a certain type of politics is so distracting from the root cause in his eyes. He's been remarkably wise about the whole reparations thing & trying to steer clear of identity politics. He's a TRUE Humanitarian, not someone who just exploits opportunities. Not that there isn't a time & place for identity politics, as there certainly is, he just happens to have a far better understanding of this than the avg person (which seriously begs the question about his IQ, as he's very deceptively humble, and I mean that as a HUGE compliment).
