*1-2 days of not getting out of bed for anything but basic necessities. quite possibly spent napping quite possibly spent reading (usually something simpler) quite possibly spent doing anything else you may do in a bed that does not require much brain power. pets may or may not hang out with you but if you have one for the true hibernation experience it is best to lure one into your bed.

do you have any favorite fics or fic authors? i’m running out of things to reeeeead. thank you! 🙏🏽

Let me put together some recs of the fics I've read that I think are truly exceptional (along with some friends' works that I immensely enjoy coming back to). See what you think of these:

First, there's "An Honor" and "An Arcane Apocrypha" by @peachpitss - two parts of a series exploring Ralsei's character throughout chapter 1 and 2 of Deltarune. Their exploration of his internal world and worries is second to none, and the way they extrapolate that to discuss his potential relation and views on the Player/Kris dichotomy is highly believable and brilliantly executed!

Next, there's @acaciapines' wonderful Kralsei Road Trip fics, "Homegrown Hearts" and "Like A Car Off A Cliff". Detailing Ralsei's struggles with personhood, gender, and love, set against the backdrop of the great American road trip, xir ability to capture the mundanity and complexity of life's minutae, alongside all the bumps and scrapes that come with navigating alternative interpersonal relationships between queer teenagers, left me absolutely blown away. One of the most talented authors I've ever had the pleasure of reading, full stop.

Kralsusie more your speed? You NEED to read @mutated-green-things's "Something To Call His Own", which may well be the most tooth-rotting piece of writing I've ever read. The care and tenderness with which Ralsei is treated by his friends, laced with a delicious edge of awkward teenage hormones and uncertainty, makes this an extremely compelling and achingly adorable read. Miss this one at your peril!

Plugging some friends' works now! "Communication" by @dawnthefluffyduck is a sweet and heartbreaking exploration of Kris and Ralsei's first conversation without the Soul's oversight, and they display astounding writing talent for someone who doesn't venture into writing all that much. Check it out and give them some love!

Then we have @exodus-raine's "The Loveliest Lies Of All" And "Red, I Feel My SOUL On Fire", two achingly intimate fics that follow on from each other, showcasing Kris's attempts to find comfort and meaning in their relationships with Ralsei and Susie, respectively. The turns of phrase they incorporate into their writing are beautifully creative, and the softness with which they portray the friendships between Kris and the others makes me melt every time.

Last, and certainly not least, we have Catroic's vast backlog of Kralsei works, the most recent of which is "Ralsei or Bust", detailing a hypothetical scenario where Kris uses their Soul to allow Ralsei to come to the light world for the festival. Their writing is creative, humourous, tender, and quite raunchy in places (be advised if that's not your thing!) and they're a near-limitless wellspring of creativity when it comes to their ideas for fics. Definitely check them out

Been a little while since I explored Kralsei’s darker side, and the most recent chapters provided the perfect opportunity, i.e. that absolutely devastating last scene with Ralsei at the end of Chapter 4. What would compel Kris to tell him to “Keep smiling?” And what would follow on from that?

So, at one build in Deltarune's Development there were originally an entry of 10 Chapters in the code (Along Chapter 0?) So, do you think any chances Toby might be planning a secret hidden Chapter or its just a possibility there might be more than 7?

Hmm... I remember seeing this and the prospect of more than seven chapters is indeed exciting... but I have a feeling that those were just placeholders, a bit like the unused 100 values for Pokemon in the original Red and Blue.

THAT said, however - Gaster tells us at the end of chapter four that we've reached the halfway point, so maybe - JUST maybe - there will be eight chapters as opposed to seven, with the last one perhaps being a secret chapter that releases alongside seven. But that's very much speculation on my part and I wouldn't want to get anyone's hopes up XD
