~Give yourself the space to be a beginner~

Constantly and consistently churning out perfection doesn’t have a place in art. Art is something that’s been embraced by people to reflect the relationships with themselves and the outward world. Punishing yourself into a capitalistic perfection is STUPID. Art is the most human thing about people and it is being stripped of its integrity. Buy the cheap paints, pull out your 20 year old crayons and HAVE FUN. GROW. It kills me to see people beat themselves up for not finding ‘their style’ or not getting 300K likes or whatever it is that leads you to being ashamed of your art journey. Art isn’t about other peoples approval, it’s about saying something, or nothing at all. Don’t give up, rest often, go outside, and don’t let it turn into a meaningless cash grab, we already have AI for that. Your journey is going to ebb and flow. You can buy all the right books and supplies and practice until your forearm sores, but creating is a cycle of creative rest (whether it be hours, days, week, or months) and realization. You have time.
