You know what I really love about Folklore? It strips away the main arguments against Taylor’s music. “She only writes songs about her boyfriends.” No, actually many songs on this album are stories about other people, even people she’s never even met. “All Taylor Swift songs sound the same.” Actually she’s never made an album that sounds anything like this before, it’s her first alternative album. “She only write songs for teenage girls.” This album is really beautiful and complex and it’s appealing to people of all ages and walks of life. “Her songs aren’t even that good.” Listen to Folklore. it will change your mind.

i think it’s hard for me to compare folklore to any of her previous albums, because to me this album stands like on its own in the sense of like. this is the album you listen to when it’s dark and youre trying to find comfort in something, when youre trying to like catch your breath after a panic attack, when youre like walking alone in nature. like her past albums have all been very unique but also similar whereas folklore is its own piece of work entirely.

I can’t speak with anyone else

for you I would ruin myself

Taylor swimming and looking lost in the deep dark ocean with just her piano hit me hard. It’s just her and her music facing the world, taking critism from literally everyone and the little waves/ripples in the water are the negative things people have thrown at her and she struggles to hang on but still manages to remind herself who she really is and find home again and oH MY GOD I WILL CRRYYY tYALOR yOUR MIND
