International Day of the Girl
232 posts
Everyone deserves access to a quality education, but around the world, girls are still missing out on school. On October 11th, we are joining the United Nations in telling the world that it is time to invest in girls. Because the louder we are, the harder it is to ignore us.

An Aspiring Designer
Janna is a second grader at Felipe Calderon Elementary School in The Philippines, where more than 30% of primary schoolchildren are malnourished. In her school gardening program supported by IIRR, Janna is an active gardener. She helps care for the plants, attends nutrition lessons, and learns about new ways to cook indigenous vegetables so she can share recipes with her family. Ultimately, Janna's participation in the BIG program helps her eat better and stay focused in school.  And when she's focused, she can concentrate on her dream goal - taking over the fashion world as a celebrated designer!
