victoria’s childhood was fairly good despite the disadvantages that came with being a pogue. she grew up with an older brother, gabriel who is her rock to this day and immigrant parents who wanted a better life for the two. they were practical people who didn’t have many opportunities and wanted their children to lead successful careers. because of this, they could be strict. instilling responsibility and drive in rory from the start. they were well meaning though and always did right by victoria. made sure her needs were met and encouraged her in her hobbies. which were never anything extravagant, rory was fairly reserved. preferring an imaginary world found in books and expressing herself through her journals & painting. rory knew how important school was. she was dedicated to her schoolwork. joined the science club and became a core part of the debate team. as she got older though her attention drifted to other devours, she found a deep passion for the mysterious and unknown. gained a lot of inspiration from the hardy boys, nancy drew, and sherlocke holmes. loved scrolling through forums about unsolved mysteries and trying to figure out the truth. rory also spent a lot of late nights going down rabbit holes about ufos and flat earth. it wasn’t that she necessarily believed in these things, mostly found conspiracy theories fascinating. despite loving, she never fit in well. being mostly quiet and a bit awkward made it difficult for her to form bonds with most of her peers. she wasn’t bullied but it wasn’t like she was someone who would be invited to parties or have her yearbook signed. these things didn’t bother her, she’d much rather put on a thriller movie or explore abandoned places. ever since she was a little girl, rory has been sensible. even when it came down to what career path she would go down. she considered her options very carefully. thought hard about what the right decision was. she had her aspirations but knew how far stretched they seemed to be. she thought it was very unlikely she could achieve such goals. so she went with her head instead. decided to get her certification in phlebotomy and has been a loyal worker at bay ridge hospital since. she does enjoy her job though and doesn’t regret her choices. some might say she’s playing it safe and she would agree with that statement. she was definitely playing it safe when she chose to be a phlebotomist. this doesn’t mean she no longer spend her free time on her passions though. she’ll always be an amateur sleuth at heart and maybe one day she’ll get to live it out.

trent brooks was the middle child of his family. his dad was never in the picture but that was probably a good thing. his mom worked multiple jobs to provide for her three kids. due to this, his older sibling had to step up and take on a parental role. they became the guardian he needed. taught him valuable lessons. to stay out of trouble, be respectful to everyone, and most importantly, always do good by his family. at an early age, he found a love for sports. basketball, football, baseball. you name it and he was more than likely on the team. but with his mom spread out thin by the long hours at work. his siblings were the one’s who always showed up and showed out for him. they were his number one fans and instilling the confidence in him he has to this day. something no amount of money he gives to them would be enough to pay them back. school came easily for trent. he’d always been a charming person, never judged anyone for where they come from. was nice to pogues and kooks a like. he was a tight end on the football team during the fall. but basketball is where he excelled the most. he always had friends but during this time, he almost felt like a town celebrity. he wouldn’t admit it but he revelled in the attention. he got to go to the biggest parties and went to all the bonfires. there was never a dull moment. and he did all this under the guise of sports practice. however, his mother and eldest sibling would have had his neck if they realized his focus wasn’t entirely on his extracurriculars but trent was effortlessly good at hiding his secret lifestyle. he maintained good grades, trained hard in sports, all while balancing his social life. this all led to his basketball scholarship at the university of san francisco. university is when his professional life took center stage. pressure to succeed in his basketball career and achieve his finance degree was a lot to handle. he spent long hours at practice and the rest of his day was spent studying. there was no longer fun to be had. a realization that was hard to accept. he hoped that graduating university would mean freedom to do whatever he wanted but then came the real dream killer. entering the work force. he got a position at a high profile bank in san francisco and worked his way up to being a loan officer. spending long hours in his office and working with clients, there’s not much he can do with his new found wealth. he travels when he can which isn't often. mostly, he blows it on expensive items, his family, and a house too big for one person. all to bury the regret from leading a dull life. with the sunnyview reunion, he’s come back to town in hopes of reliving his teen years and reuniting with his friends & family.

there was never a tender moment during axl’s childhood. his father was a man with anger issues. he had a habit of gambling all their money and a love for stirring up trouble. axl’s mother walked out on them before he could even walk. he had learned from an early age that his home was not built on love. that nothing he could do would ever change his circumstances. and to never bother his dad after a recent loss. school wasn’t any easier. teachers chalked up his inattention to him being lazy. he often found himself in arguments with the richer kids. and soon enough, his father’s own anger crept into axl. fights with his peers and disruptive behavior followed after. then came the suspensions and failed classes. a destiny that had already been written out for him. axl’s only escape was the local beach. a place with no shouting or broken dishes. no insults thrown or fists flying. just him and the ocean’s calling. the only comfort he’d ever known. and there he would form friendships with other like minded pogues. found a place he belonged. figured out how to survive on his own. learned the fast ways of earning money. illegal or not. and making money so easily was a rush all on its own. he came to the conclusion that school was just a waste of time. especially when he could just spend the time he should be at school selling drugs or pawning stolen items. he stopped putting in effort altogether and was frequently faced with truancy. he was surprised when he got his diploma and skipped the graduation too. he eventually simmered down after his turbulent teen years. really though, it was moving out of his house that calmed him. well, he was actually kicked out after an explosive argument. he still dabbles in questionable activities and the beach will always be his favorite place to be. still won’t back down from a fight and loves to go wild escapades around sunnyview. but axl’s finally got his own place and a car that he’s proud of. he’s landed his dream job at sandy auto shop. get’s to live life how he wants too and doesn’t have to deal with anyone’s problems but his own. for axl, this is more than enough. he doesn’t need a lavish lifestyle or people to be below him. he’s perfectly fine with drinking a cold one and surfing the waves.
