Host Country Media Collection: Costa Rica
I chose the country of Costa Rica because of its rich rain forests in which I love. I collected many pictures of the natural scenery and wildlife. These pictures can better equip me for my sojourn by giving me a quick look at what I will be experiencing while I’m there. Costa Rica is more of ecotourism whereas other tourists’ countries are more of beaches and manmade attractions, which looks artificial as compared to Costa Rica as a whole. Costa Rica also has its fair share of beaches as well, but the climate and weather differs from place to place. While petty crime is the predominant threat for tourists in Costa Rica, violent crime, including armed robbery, homicide and sexual assault, occurs in Costa Rica. The Costa Rican government provides additional security resources in areas frequented by tourists. The US State Department considers Costa Rica among the safest countries for US nationals. Also; Costa Rica may be more expensive than some other Central American countries, but you can certainly experience the country on a backpacker's budget if you take the time to investigate low-cost sleeping options like camping, hostels and small eco guest houses. Beach bumming and soaking up the sun are the best things to do in the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica since it has a much more chill and laid-back vibe. The best adventure on the Caribbean side is white water rafting at Rio Pacuare which is one of the top 5 in the world!
Home to some of the most beautiful volcanoes, Paos Volcano national Park is home to a magnificent and beautiful volcano. During the day, thousands of visitors admire wild landscapes and magical smoke eruptions. Manuel Antonio National Park might not be the largest National Park in Costa Rica, but it is one of the country’s more famous and visited locations. It’s no wonder why either; this park has everything that a traveler could dream up: beaches, wildlife, forests, nightlife. With plenty of tour operations to keep you busy and eco-friendly accommodations offered, this is one place that I recommend you try to keep on your list.
Scientists have estimated that close to 4 percent of the Earth’s species live in Costa Rica. This is another reason I chose this country because of all the wildlife that I will possibly encounter. Some travel leisure’s suggests that the best time to visit is generally between December and April, though the Caribbean side of the country is particularly beautiful in October.
