What right do I have to criticise the writing of an internationally acclaimed mangaka but here I am still upset over the fact that Fukurodani didn’t win the spring high tournament because you don’t get it, oh godddd, they were so close to the whole promise/challenge thing that Bokuto spoke of, the whole “we’re going to win all of them” like cmon I understand the lesson that was being taught here about how life continues even if you lose something you’ve been anticipating like crazy and yknow something along the lines of this but hear me out like surely life isn’t so morose that everything needs to turn into a lesson, surely life is a bit more gracious than that?

Sometimes you can just simply enjoy a thing and have it work out your way, not everything needs to be a character development thing, I think they’ve had enough character development for the moment and it was time for the shiny prize at the end but alas that wasn’t meant to be.

Like Fukurodani really should’ve won cuz it’s like you can’t just give away that prize to a nameless and faceless team (apparently you can if you are the writer of the manga) that we don’t know literally anything about like I understand the writing choice is very clever so as not to be biased towards one particular team or one particular set of characters and not upset other people cuz it’s like everyone had their own team that they were rooting for and they had their own sets of reason why their teams specifically had to be the one to win the tournament

But it’s like no other team made that claim as far I remember like obviously in the back of their heads everyone wanted to win the tournament but only Fukurodani and more specifically Bokuto said it out loud for the world (us or Akaashi, interpret it however you want) to hear like he spoke it out into the air and let it stay, that hope, that vow and that should’ve meant something and led them to that victory because god did they try hard. And sure so did several other teams but with them it’s different for me

No but seriously I just feel like the Fukurodani team is the one team who was going to experience the most drastic change once the third years left cuz majority of their team consists of third years and they deserved to win the title of the spring high tournament winners and it’s like obviously they were runner up which isn’t bad or anything but after all that maybe it wouldn’t have been so terrible to let them get a taste of the much awaited victory.

Had they won, it would’ve been poetic justice like after all the help and useful advice that Bokuto provided to the Karasuno team members unconditionally so.

Maybe I am being too idealistic with this but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a bit of whimsy in one’s life.

And yknow what pisses me off the most is that I think that Haikyuu is a very well written manga and I really do not have much or any complains about it except this one thing that I just can’t look past. It’s not even like I can give myself false hope and be like the author was wilding or something cuz he wasn’t, considering the fact that he wrote everything else about that manga that I adore except this….

Also I just feel like the general consensus towards the spring high tournament winner is that it should’ve been Fukurodani, even people who don’t necessarily think of Fukurodani as their favourite team can logically think and tell that they really should’ve won that title after all the praise that they received regarding the kind of team they were and the team that we got to see them be. If it had to be any team that should’ve won it, it should’ve been them. They’re just such a well-rounded team : (

running from lions by caandlelit. 8k. Konoha x Sarukui. Saru POV, and he is so incredibly down bad for Konoha. I really liked the style for this one.

Certain Credibility by GalaxyAqua. Almost 5k. Konoha x Komi. Komi POV, and he keeps insisting he's straight when he's not. The dialogue was hilarious, I live for their energy.

left behind by keijibeam. almost 8k. Konoha x Washio. Konoha POV, and it's about KonoWashi as much as it's about Konoha and Saru and Komi. 3rd year angst <3

Some honorable mentions: unwalked (15' to 22') (KonoWashi), a consolatory gesture (also KonoWashi), another sunny day (Konoha x Kaori), Two Idiots Make a Right (KonoBoku, also I'm pretty sure they ended up making out so I skipped the end).

Do you have any Konoha ship fics recs? I've read a couple nice KonoAka ones, but not a lot.
