does the rp follow the plot of left 4 dead 2(?) exactly?

nope. like i said, i'll mention specifics in the plot drops. it's definitely inspired by the plot of both l4d1 and l4d2 (and both games have some timeline overlap!) but everything you'll need to know, will be detailed in the drops.

would the iron claws from back 4 blood be an acceptable weapon?

i'd say no. b4b has pretty different world-building and the iron claws fit that world more. i looked at the other b4b weapons and they'd mostly be fine except for the claws (they just wouldn't work that well in a timeline where the apocalypse is still very fresh).

the golden rule of left 4 dead is to stick together. even though the games are more than 15 years old, the community is still super active, and we're reminded of that rule every time we play. a zombie apocalypse will surely foster those connections and character development, so check us out.

are there any backgrounds you’d like avoided for characters? i know some rps don’t like military / police backgrounds

hi! i had to think deeply about this one, to be honest. def a hard no on allowing police characters. i'd also say no to a military character, mainly bc in the plot drops, the military will be mentioned as antagonistic npcs (as they are in the game canon). but i know bill (one of the canon game survivors) was a former soldier. i briefly considered making former soldiers okay, but considering everything going on in the world? i think it's best not to allow military backgrounds, even if it's all in the past. most other occupations/backgrounds are okay, even celebrity or organized crimebackgrounds... but maybe no to a royal character? that's about it. feel free to ask again if you're unsure.

is there an upper age limit for survivors?

nope. i mean, the survivor group in both games canonically feature a 45-year-old (coach) and someone who's at least in his 60s (bill). although not one of the main survivors, whitaker is also in the second game and he's somewhere in his 60s. as long as the mun, fc, and muse are all 21+, any age above that is ok.

Are influencer and idol FCs allowed? I didn't see them on the banned list.

hello. yes, influencer and idol fcs are allowed. i decided on this because a lot of diverse poc (particularly fcs of color who have underrepresented ethnicities) are not actors. i added some lines clarifying that muns may choose not to use gifs, as long as they have a clear photo of their muse's fc pinned on their blog. if the fc is an influencer/idol with no gif packs suitable for a zombie rp, you can just not use gifs. however, with influencers, i hope you choose ones who are at least signed to one legit modeling agency or something like that, rather than some random person. i will ask players to pick a new fc if they need to.

are the survivors on the run for the whole rp?

nope, there will be opportunities for them to breathe, and for threads to take place in a relatively relaxed state. the plot drops will talk about safe rooms, temporary relaxing places for the survivors.

i played l4d2 last night and all the players in our lobby were from the uk... wondering if any muns from the uk/europe would also like to check out this zombie rp inspired by the left 4 dead franchise. but yeah, anyway, i'm just chilling here this sunday and will be able to look at the inbox after some late lunch.
