#YESYESYESYESYES#school was absolute hell being the kind of neurodivergent I am#because I would be reading at like. college level. but being so for real that’s just because I loved reading#so then when I’d get put in honors classes to do things I WASNT interested in in a format that DIDNT work for me#I felt so stupid and constantly got chastised by everyone around me for not living up to my potential or whatever#when in reality nobody really taught me to take notes or do homework or study.#I just was REALLY good at focusing in on a certain essay or project#and also test taking because like. I can pass tests I barely know anything about because… pattern recognition#it really messed up my self esteem related to academia in so many ways because I was always getting the#‘you’re too smart to be this stupid’ talk#but then in college things have been a lot better bc I took so much time off before going back#that I basically had to relearn how to learn (and also I have Adderall now lol)#also college has been like 85% stuff I’m interested in which helps a lot lol
