good morning dead pixel <3
it is my (@byronstan)'s belief that @internetpoetry leaving the world left a vacuum where image-driven poetry once existed. it is @deadpixelpoetry's mission to fill that void, finding the middleground between fun and pretentious, open-access and gatekept. with a thousand screens at each of our disposal every day that consistently prime us to process visual media, not to mention the boundless online creative tools at our disposals, i want to again create a space for image- and text-driven poetry to meet.
digital collages and image macros don't need to be complicated to mean something. i want things that mean something. i want things that hurt my eyes with how much they mean something. send me things that mean something to you.
some excellent starting places include:
your phone's in-app photo editor
canva
the public domain image archive
gifcities.org
gimp, adobe free online editing tool, pictures in your camera roll that you never look at but can't bring yourself to delete, that file of poem scraps that you haven't figured out yet, etc.
