I really can’t decide if I want to do this in a black+white lineart style or if I want some gradients... The original intention was to give it a soft watercolor effect, but the stark blacks might not go well with it. Either way, I am extremely happy with what I did here. I put so much effort into Majima’s hair, tattoo, and jacket. The jacket pattern in particular required tons of trial and error. I’m really proud of it! I’m not so sure about the airbrush effect on the pants and gloves, but it does make them look like shiny leather, doesn’t it?

Nusumareta Kao was middling. Needed to flesh out basically every character a little more, and the lead being trailed constantly by six very obvious guys lost its menace and became comical after a certain point. Now it's time for Guilty: Akuma to Keiyakushita Onna, which has an okay main plot but is trying to sell its main romance solely via musical cues. I'd give it up on the annoyance of that alone, but Tamaki Hiroshi has long hair and has already punched one dude, so I'll persevere.
Thanks to the live action Way of the Househusband series, I've also gone and watched some other Tamaki Hiroshi dramas. Dakara Korosenakatta and Ryu no Michi I finished, while Sakura no Tou I got through about half of before dropping off. The best of them was Ryu no Michi because for a small part of it Tamaki got to wear flamboyantly patterned silk shirts and have facial hair and he also beat people up a few times. The story was mostly pretty good too, though some of the stuff really pushed it (everything with the dirtbag journalist, for example). But what to watch now?
#can't overstate how bad the 'romance' is so far. probably because the lead actress's non-revenge-obsessed persona is so dull#painfully cutesy act that i know is meant to contrast her ruthless vengeful side but they went way overboard#however the time period of the show makes me nostalgic. i remember those flip phones with the charms!
