In ancient Greece:

Boys and men worshipped Artemis, she had priests as well as priestesses.

Maidens, married women, and mothers worshipped Artemis. Her cults were not for girls and virgins only.

Artemis was a goddess of transitions, of the constant moving states of being, of the process of going through the stages of life; she helped her worshippers be born, grow up, get married, become parents, grow old. In this manner, she presided over virginity as well as the inevitable loss of it as one left childhood behind and entered adulthood.

Modernity frustrates me.

I am not a reconstructionist pagan by any stretch of the imagination, don't get me wrong, but I do constantly strive to feel connected to the Ancients in my practice.

Sometimes I feel like I can sense the internet and wifi hanging around my head, and the whirring and noise of modern life can be so spiritually jarring. It's like there's a blockage between me and the gods. I seriously want to move to a more rural place where I have space to just be, and gods willing I will do it one day.

The main goal of my running this blog is to help contribute to a positive image of pagans today and to clear up misconceptions, but it has also taught me how to make peace with and set boundaries with technology in my practice. I share far from everything on here and I think that's important to encourage.

Internet detoxes, distance between you and technology, and setting boundaries with technology are all good ideas if you are feeling spiritually disconnected, just putting it out there.

The Myth of Callisto is very hard to interpret as I have read like three different versions of it and they were all vastly different. But from all I can gather it really just seems to be a big elaborate way of explaining the constellation Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. But I will be writing this down to read again and hopefully be able to write a different interpration on this blog. I will leave this explanation of it below that I just looked up while writing this post and see if maybe you got a different opinion from it too? But my fellow hellenic deity devotees and pagans and polytheist - I'd love to pick your brains ! I am working on a potential temple server for lady Artemis, and I'd love to get ideas on what I should include in that place, how to run it smoothly, ideas for posts here.......I am just a humble devotee so I will always express my humble thanks for even giving me the space to write to you all. I have been humbly working behind the scenes for awhile for a place for Artemis devotees to go and worship together online since I don't have the means to make a true temple just yet but The Huntress Temple is in the works on discord and Will hopefully be unveiled next month! Will also be making a side blog specifically for it! Thank you so much to @atheneum-of-you for helping me with the behind the scenes server set up it's very much appreciated ! I will also be opening up partnerships in that server as well to let people advertise their servers as well ^-^ Even though I am simple a humble worshiper and devotee of Lady Artemis, I do hope she appreciates my humble act of making a online temple for her to be able to create a safe worship place for people of all works of life!
