Rewatching Race to the Edge and in the episode where Tuffnut accidentally performs a marriage between Ruff and Fishlegs, he tells them “you may now headbutt the bride” and Ruffnut very shyly headbutts Fishlegs’ arm 🥹 I’ve never noticed that until now and it’s adorable

Was trying to figure out where I recognized the actress playing Ruffnut for the longest time today and then I realized that she played Shenshen in Wicked

Just saw the live action HTTYD, here are my thoughts:

It was so good. Stayed true to the animated version and just so so good

Hiccup wasn’t Hiccup enough (if that makes sense) like the actor did a great job but the sarcasm felt forced and he wasn’t awkward enough

Didn’t really like the twins. They were lacking compared to the animation. They just kinda annoyed me rather than made me laugh

Love that Gerard Butler came back as Stoick

Nico Parker killed it as Astrid like that’s my girl

Somehow they made me attracted to Snotlout?

I’m sad they left out Hiccup discovering that dragons aren’t fireproof on the inside cause like how did he know to try it with the red death?

Toothless, my beloved. He was so cute

All the dragons looked good, imo

I liked that the dragons were more reptile like

I don’t think they mention it in the animation at all but I thought it was interesting that Berk is more of a melting pot in the LA. Like Stoick mentions that Berk is made up of a bunch of tribes that all came together on the island. I don’t think they mention it in the animation and I know in the books, Berk is solely inhabited by the Hairy Hooligan tribe

It was interesting that they made a point to have Astrid mention that she “came from nothing”. From what I remember, her parents aren’t really shown or talked about in the animation but I’m pretty sure it’s implied that they are pretty close friends of Stoick

All that being said, I loved it so much. It felt like with the music being updated a bit and them sticking pretty close to the original, that they were trying to basically make an updated love letter to the franchise that we all love

Idk I loved it and I also now need an animated show/movie that is a prequel cause I wanna see Stoick and all the parents growing up. Like I want to see Stoick and Valka fall in love and Stoick and Gobber becoming friends

Because I feel like some amazing parallels can be drawn between Stoick and Gobber’s friendship and Hiccup and Fishlegs’ friendship

Like I’m not really expecting anything from it, I never really expect much from remakes. Just so long as they somewhat do justice to the story, I’ll like it

Plus people are forgetting that the story we got from the original movies and shows is NOT the original story that the author wrote

Let us not forget that Hiccup is literally a slave in the books and Toothless is a wimpy little dragon

To this day, I still think the funniest thing in the HTTYD universe is that two of the most heavily accented parents (Stoick and Valka) produced a child with absolutely no accent to be had (Hiccup)

Is it worth investing in a Ring (or similar) camera? I live by myself and both the front and back doors in my apartment open right to the street (I live on the ground floor). I feel like I’m lowkey paranoid about my safety but also people taking my stuff

I’ve already had stuff stolen from my back patio area but I’m more worried about the safety aspect

I live in a safe area but I guess I’m just paranoid because I’m a college age girl living by myself
