Also. I always say this but "Protagonist and his Long Lost Love who was also trying to KILL HIM make some kind of amends but we don't get to hear the conversation on page cuz this chapter is from the pov of Completely Sopping Wet Queer Wizard Friend and he's zoning out trying not to cry becayse his friend just confirmed aloud they're actually friends" is. Delightful. AND they're holding hands there's literally Two Hands stuff going on.

I love the Labyrinth bits of into the Labyrinth aprtially because of how they relate to. some Extremely Specific Trauma of mine. too specific to rly be anywhere else. but also like fuck it makes em taxing to go through some time.

truly a bummer that a certain FRONT AND CENTER CHARACTER PREMISE of the deathgate cycle makes a daemon au really clunky and awkward to write because you know Samah would be finding new ways to throw microagressions at Orla and Alfred for both having Bird Daemons.

honestly i'm kind of obsessed with people who align themselves with the abject and criminalised by choice because they feel that they owe a Debt to Society, and how that highlights both the prison they all share (the rules of law and majority acceptance that govern their shared existence) and the discriminatory unfairness of it

Thinking about Alfred enthusiastically shaking Zifnab's hand in the seventh book. "i heard all about you sir pleased to finally make your aquintance" first of all king of being weird in social situations. normal things to say when you meet a drug wizard van side man 15 minutes after getting of the torture rack , and he gives you a quest. more importantly they are going to be SUCH weirdass friends post canon. marit alfred friendship? duh. vasu alfred friendship? been there done that. Balthazar? you'd have to convince me but i t can work. BUT he and Zifnab are going to be strange conversation friends. thee original traitor sartan is showing him Cats on DVD.

besides all the dog and loyalty and dying and lying to oneself shit going on Haplo deathgatecycle and Fitzchivalry Farseer both share the trait of being fantasy protagonists who are kind of Meant to be Driving. like i think they're kinda hugely missing out and they simply don't know it. except Fitz has the soul of a long distance trucker- just him and the road and the Duty to get to the place and maybe he'll find someplace to sleep and maybe he won't. and Haplo is Supposed to be on da busy highway. He will conquer the 5pm traffic and emerge victorious, because his instincts are swift and his purpose true. muttering "Fuck you" if you try and tell him it's too tight and he will not be able to park a place before he does it perfectly

Technically i started this on June. But honestly it's always time for pride, isn't it? A redraw of a very, very old piece, this has made incredibly giddy to work on and I'm very excited to show it. There are a lot of tiny details- this drawing has been in a constant state of maximum layer limit, and is also. Very big. I hope tumblr uploas does it justice.... and that y'all like looking at it as much as i do.

Also again I know i'm clutching at straws but. Alfred only uses 'man' on that internal self descriptor for Side B. 'the man who just fullfilled the prophecy, whatever that was'- the thing expected of alfred, new view of him he can't fulfill. vs what he/she/they Actually Feels And Would Have Liked To Be Perhaps Wanted Or Valued As- "clumsy-footed bumbling fool", which is an interesting cluster of- like there could have been an Old Man here but there isn't. like man is on the Other side of the gulf of inadaquacy- which has inadaquacy o nboth sid- AALFRED. Polycule but it’s just two people in a romantic relationship with each other and their third who’s pretty obviously aroace but also somehow so deeply intertwined in their lives that it’d just be wrong to not count them as involved. Is this anything.

Cannot make it clear enough to Outsiders that the dog death counter refers to the same dog. So far it's died twice and has teleported around four times- I'm not keeping Official count of that but I am keeping track in my head- and Haplo still gets pissed at anyone who tries to insinuate it isn't a normal animal.
