THE POLAR TANG | Part 1/2

I mentioned in the author’s note of The Peculiar Perils of Straw Hat Parties that I was working on a design for the Polar Tang for that fic (and any subsequent fics involving Law’s submarine), and as I get ready to publish chapter 3 here it is, as promised! Click to enlarge/view higher res versions.

(well, at least here are the decks relevant to chapter 3: decks 0, 1, and 2. Decks 3 and 4 will come with later chapters, once I’ve had a chance to complete them)

yo that’s deep bro / accepting

it isn’t common for robin to drift onto heavy topics with those he hardly knows, but he doesn’t necessarily turn down the opportunity when it arises. he believes it to be a good chance to learn from another, and to forge deeper connections ─ yet it’s the man’s question which makes him reconsider this logic of his. his eyes wander; drift, from the man beside him to the sky that hangs o’erhead, and he mulls over it. if robin had not met chrom, and he wander this world without the guidance and friendships he’s created since becoming a shepherd, how would he answer? perhaps differently. without chrom ─ without ylisse, or the shepherds ─ would his views be different, or the same? on one hand, robin would prefer to believe he would react as he does now; that he would put such care into his plans & still attempt to bond with others. all the while, he feels he may of turned out to be someone else entirely if he hadn’t become the tactician he is now.

for those times where he presents his next strategy, if he were to be stopped & spoken to about his schemes, would he take their words to heart like he did now? something tells him no. he might not have made changes to his plans for their sake. he might not have explained his reasoning, or ask them how he might find a change suitable for them. without recollection of who he once was, it is entirely likely that robin would not have cared what someone thought.

        “ i think it goes either way. “

robin finally speaks after a period of silence. his gaze turns from the passing clouds above to the odd fellow, and he smiles.

        “ some act based on how others will react,     perhaps hoping for praise or simply wish to avoid     ridicule. others simply do not care, and forge on      ahead. i don’t believe it to be a question of whether     or not it does, but rather who and why. 

     we’re the ones who allow the thoughts and feelings     of others have the power they do. “

transmasc opinions on jkr are extremely valuable actually, specifically transmascs from the UK. her "save the poor lost autistic girls!!!" bullshit is targeting transmascs specifically. transmascs are literally the intended targets of the laws she is working to get put in place, laws that will and already have killed transmascs. boost UK transmascs voices and stop telling them they aren't the ones being impacted by this shit.
